Itinerary

1. Day 1: Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park

   • After a short briefing in the morning, travel to Lake Manyara National Park, one of Tanzania's smallest but most diverse parks. The shallow and alkaline Lake Manyara covers a large area of the park, and it is the seasonal home to thousands of flamingos and 500 other bird species. Troops of monkeys, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras and wildebeests live on the grassy plains and elephants and lions in the acacia woodlands. From the open roof of the vehicle, watch the animals and admire the landscape.
   • After an extensive game drive and a picnic lunch, leave the park and make way to the cooler regions of the Ngorongoro highlands.
   • You will have an overnight stay at the Marera Valley Lodge.

2. Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater

   • After an early start, drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Then head down into the crater, home to varied animals such as lion, buffalo, elephant, rhino, leopard, Grant’s and Thomson’s gazelles, mountain reedbucks, hyenas, rare wild dogs and more than 500 bird species
   • Post lunch, return to Karatu, where you will spend another night at the Marera Valley Lodge.

3. Day 3: Tarangire National park and Departure

   • Post breakfast, drive to Tarangire National Park, home to the largest elephant herds in northern Tanzania.
   • Go for an adventurous game drive to spot elephants, giraffes, bushbucks, hartebeests, dik-diks, waterbucks, warthogs, reedbucks, lions, cheetah and leopards. 
   • Return to Arusha.
