Itinerary

1. Day 1: Dar es Salaam to Selous Game Reserve

   • Get picked up from the airport or hotel in Dar es Salaam, and begin to drive down south of Dar es Salaam to Selous Game Reserve; the drive shall take 4 to 5 hours. 

   • Arrive in time for lunch, at around 4 pm in the evening.

   • Depart for an adventurous and romantic evening sunset boat safari along the great Rufiji River to spot hippos, crocodiles and birds, and enjoy the spectacular sundown.

   Dinner and overnight at the lodge or tented camp. 

2. Day 2: Exploring Selous Game Reserve

   • After early breakfast, depart for a full-day game drive in a 4×4 modified safari vehicle with a professional guide in the Selous Game Reserve, exploring the game in the surrounding areas from your seat on an open-roofed vehicle; a comfortable and privileged journey through the wild African bush. 

   • See any of the major African great favourite mammals, including elephant, giraffes, lions, buffalo, zebra and even the rare African Wild Dog. 

   • Picnic lunch shall be provided in the mid-day whereby your guide will select a location with shade and water nearby to watch animals coming to drink – a place with a clear view all around so that no predator can creep up hidden. 

   • Before the end of the day, return to the lodge, and the rest of the evening will be spent at your own leisure.

   Dinner and overnight at the Safari lodge or tented camp.

3. Day 3: Exploring Selous Game Reserve

   • Have an early breakfast and depart for a full-day game drive in a 4×4 modified safari vehicle with a professional guide in the Selous Game Reserve.

   • Spot the major African great favourite mammals, including elephant, giraffes, lions, buffalo, zebra and even the rare African Wild Dog. 

   • Enjoy your picnic lunch in the mid-day at a location with shade and water nearby to watch animals coming to drink.

   • Before the end of the day, return to the lodge, and spend the rest of the evening at leisure.

   Dinner and overnight at the Safari lodge or tented camp.

4. Day 4: Walking Safari & Departure

   • Go on an early morning walking safari into the Selous Game Reserve, usually start at 6-6.30am after early morning tea or coffee, accompanied by an armed ranger. It will be around 2-3 hours long.

   • Focus on the habitat that the animals live in, insects, trees and birdlife.

   • After enjoying your breakfast in the morning, check out and begin your drive back to Dar es Salaam for the drop off at your hotel or airport.
