Itinerary
-
Day 1: Arusha - Tarangire National Park
Have breakfast and leave from your hotel somewhere in Arusha.
Drive to Tarangire National Park with your Tanzanian guide/driver. This park is known for its elephants and giant baobab trees. You will see big elephant herds in this park. When they see your vehicle coming closer, they will gather around their young ones to protect and lead them on their way. Here, you will have the opportunity to sit and watch.
Go down to the Tarangire River. The river is located in the middle of the park, providing a significant water source for the animals and a splendid panoramic view for visitors.
Check into the Gibbs Farm hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
-
Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast and check out– depart with packed lunch descend into the Ngorongoro Crater. It is a deep, volcanic crater, the world's largest un-flooded and unbroken caldera, about 20 km across, 600 meters deep and 300 square km in area.
Explore the archaeological site at Olduvai Gorge and the early human footprints discovered. There is a large resident population of the varied ground game with the genuine chance of seeing the "big five". The Egyptian Vulture is among the essential birds found here, which makes its home at the highest of the crater wall and greater flamingos that are spasmodic visitors to the crater lakes.
Ascend the Crater and make your way back to the hotel for an overnight stay and dinner.
-
Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park - Arusha
Drive to Lake Manyara National Park for a morning game drive. It is the smallest park compared to other Tanzania's parks. At only 330 km2, it fits neatly into the Great Rift Valley. Resident flamingos often cover the shallow alkaline lake, and whatever the park lacks in size, it makes up for its vast diversity. Large herds of buffaloes and zebras wander on the plains. Enjoy the hot springs, soda lake, different bird species, wildlife, and this park's landscapes.
Depart from the park and make your way back to the lodge.
