Itinerary
-
Day 1: Arusha - Tarangire National Park
- Have breakfast at the hotel. You'll be picked up with packed lunches and start to drive to Tarangire National Park. In the afternoon, you will have your lunch served with water and soft drinks. This charming Quiet Park is a hidden jewel, especially when you like to experience an authentic safari in northern Tanzania. Its unique landscape, dotted with thousands of baobabs, is spectacular. The park is choked with wildlife, especially during the dry season, when animals crowd around the only permanent water source in the area, the Tarangire River. Elephants are the undisputed stars in Tarangire. During the dry season, this park has one of the largest concentrations of elephants in the world! Later, you will drive to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
-
Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater
- After breakfast at the lodge, depart with packed picnic lunch boxes to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Arrive at around 8:30 am at the gates of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Here, you will first start to appreciate the majesty of one the largest intact calderas in the world and one of the most spectacular sights in the whole of Africa.
- Then you will descend into the crater floor for a day of game-watching. The Big Five, including rhinos, lions, leopards, buffalo, and elephants, live in this beautiful caldera alongside zebras, hippos, wildebeest, hyenas, and many more. View spectacular birds, including flamingos on the Soda Lake, geese, storks, and vultures. Enjoy your lunch at the picnic site at Ngoitoktok swamp, a hippo pool, before you continue the safari while ascending the crater.
- You will be back at the lodge for your dinner and overnight stay. This is a unique and best experience in Tanzania; luck, you had one today.
-
Day 3: Hadzabe & Datoga Cultural Experience
- An exciting journey through time to the last hunter-gatherers in East Africa, the Hadzabe. During your visit, you can participate in hunting in the bush, an unforgettable and authentic experience. We also visit their neighbours at Lake Eyasi, the Datoga - skilled blacksmiths, who make everyday objects out of scrap metal, for example, arrowheads and knives for the Hadzabe.
Before we visit the Hadzabe and Datoga at Lake Eyasi, the first day of the safari takes you to the Tarangire National Park. The park is home to the largest elephant population in northern Tanzania and impresses with its great scenery and giant baobab trees.

Day 4: Lake Manyara National Park
- After Breakfast, you will proceed to Lake Manyara Nationa Park for a half-day game drive. Lake Manyara National Park is famous for its tree-climbing lions. The park's lions climb trees far more often than lions in the Serengeti National Park or Tarangire National Park. This phenomenon has baffled scientists, and seeing tree-climbing lions on a game drive is an unforgettable experience. Lake Manyara national park is known for having large herds of elephants, which can be seen as tourists explore the destination.
- The national park was established to protect the elephants from danger and threats like poaching. In the mid-day, you will have your lunch, and after lunch, you will drive back to Arusha for your departure to Zanzibar or any other destination of your choice.
