Day 1: Transfer from Hotel to Mti Mkubwa Camp (2,650m / 8,694ft)
- Begin the day with a trek briefing and equipment check at your hotel.
Drive 3–4 hours to Lemosho Gate for park registration and permits.
Continue via 4WD to Lemosho Glades, the trailhead.
Hike through lush montane rainforest teeming with wildlife.
Arrive at Mti Mkubwa (Big Tree) Camp for overnight camping.

Day 2: Mti Mkubwa Camp to Shira 1 Camp (3,610m / 11,843ft)
- Trek through heather and moorland as the trail ascends steadily.
Cross several small streams and ascend the Shira Ridge.
Descend gently to Shira 1 Camp on the plateau.
Enjoy views of Kibo Peak in the distance.

Day 3: Shira 1 Camp to Shira 2 Camp (3,850m / 12,631ft)
- Continue across the scenic Shira Plateau with minimal elevation gain.

Use the afternoon for rest or short acclimatization hikes.

Day 4: Shira 2 Camp to Barranco Camp (3,976m / 13,044ft) via Lava Tower (4,630m / 15,190ft)
- Ascend gradually toward the imposing Lava Tower.
Pause at Lava Tower for acclimatization and lunch.
Descend into the Barranco Valley, home to giant groundsels and senecios.
Camp below the dramatic Barranco Wall.

Day 5: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp (3,995m / 13,106ft)
- Climb the Barranco Wall using a non-technical scrambling route.

Day 6: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp (4,673m / 15,331ft)
- Ascend over rocky slopes and volcanic scree.
Join the South Circuit Trail with views of both Kibo and Mawenzi.
Arrive at Barafu Camp in time to rest and prepare for the summit attempt.
Eat an early dinner and prepare gear for the midnight trek.

Day 7: Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak (5,895m / 19,341ft) to Mweka Camp (3,110m / 10,204ft)
- Begin the summit push around midnight using headlamps.
Climb steep scree slopes to Stella Point on the crater rim.
Reach Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa, at sunrise.
Take photographs and enjoy breathtaking views.
Descend back to Barafu Camp for rest, then continue down to Mweka Camp.

Day 8: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate (1,640m / 5,380ft) to Hotel
- Complete the final descent through dense rainforest.

Celebrate your success and rest.
