Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, drive along a pristine rolling countryside dotted with the legendary baobab trees, which seem to dwarf animals grazing beneath them.
See the river flowing in the middle of Tarangire all year round. The park is known for mass herds of elephant, buffalo, zebra, wildebeest, and impalas heading towards the river to quench their thirst.
Apart from herds of wild animals, Tarangire is a birding paradise, with over 550 bird species, both most threatened or endemic.
Picnic lunch will be served at the park.
After lunch, go for a game drive.
After sunset, arrive at Tarangire Safari Lodge for an overnight stay.
Driving distance: 1.5 hrs, 118km
-
Day 2: Tarangire National Park to Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, drive towards Serengeti via some spectacular landscapes, from the volcanic soda lake-based along the Great Rift Valley and the gorgeous rim of the Ngorongoro crater to breathtaking vast open grasslands of the Serengeti. The floodplains modified from the lava deposited approximately 3 million years ago when neighbouring mountains exploded. Today, it is an important sanctuary to see many species of wildlife like gazelles, reedbuck, topi, hartebeests, elands, buffalo, giraffe, and elephant.
In the afternoon, stop for a picnic lunch.
After lunch, go for a game drive past some spectacular habitat with chances of spotting hyenas, cheetah, leopard, and lions.
Overnight stay at Katikati Tented Camp.
Driving distance: 5 hrs, 226km
-
Day 3: Full Day Game Drive at Serengeti National Park
Explore the flood plains during high-quality game viewing in an intimate atmosphere.
Lion, leopard, cheetahs, and spotted hyena share the same open grasslands with other wild games like elephants, giraffes, buffalo, topi, hartebeest, and gazelle. Hippos and crocodiles can be spotted along the river.
Drive will start after breakfast.
In the afternoon, lunch will be served at the plain.
Continue enjoying the marvellous setting of the Serengeti till sunset.
Overstay at Katikati Tented Camp.
-
Day 4: Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Crater
Discover what's hidden in the dark while on an early morning game drive.
Early morning drives very often reward with the nocturnal life of giant predators, such as lion, hyena, leopard, and cheetahs.
Open plains are not the only ideal setting for wildlife sights; the pristine sceneries will also enthral the mind.
Return to camp for breakfast.
After breakfast, leave for another game drive, with a picnic lunch in hand.
After lunch, exit Serengeti and drive to a Masai village to learn about the culture of its people.
After a local dance performance and learning Masai ways of living, proceed to the rim of the crater.
Dinner and overnight stay at Rhino lodge.
Driving distance: 2 hrs, 110km
-
Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater to Farm House
Drift down to the crater floor after early breakfast or carry picnic breakfast and serve it at the crater floor.
Ngorongoro is the world’s largest un-flooded & unbroken caldera. Its pasture and permanent water provide life to various species of wildlife, including wildebeests, zebras, gazelle, buffaloes, eland, hartebeest, warthog, elephant, hippo, and water-buck. The crater floor offers great chances for seeing the rare black rhino. Lions and cheetahs can also be spotted as well as large packs of hyenas, who roam the crater floor scavenging from other predators.
Picnic lunch will be served on the crater floor.
Continue game drive till sunset.
Overnight stay at Farmhouse.
Driving distance: 20km
-
Day 6: Manyara National Park to Arusha
After breakfast, move on to Lake Manyara National Park.
Apart from the magnificent setting, its alkaline water lake is surrounded by thousands of pink flamingos.
Lake Manyara also happens to be home to tree-climbing lions. Other animals found here include elephant, giraffe, buffalo water-buck, bush-buck, baboon, and leopard.
Open grasslands provide a perfect habitat for other animals like zebra, wildebeest, and warthog, while marshland makes an additional resource for hippos and diverse bird species.
In the afternoon, a picnic lunch will be served at the park.
Continue with game drive till late afternoon.
Exit the park, and drive back to Arumeru river lodge, other planned hotels, transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport, or fly to Zanzibar if more excursion extension were selected.
Driving distance: 2 hrs, 120km
