Itinerary

1. Day 1: Arrival in Kigali International Airport and Kigali City

   • Arrive at Kigali International Airport and receive a warm welcome from your professional driver guide before transferring to your hotel in the city.
   • Depending on your arrival time, enjoy leisure moments to relax after your flight or explore the surroundings at your own pace.

   Overnight stay at Kigali Serena Hotel on a bed and breakfast basis.

   Main destination: Kigali City
   Accommodation: Kigali Serena Hotel. Luxury hotel located in Kigali City.
   Meals and drinks: Breakfast only and drinking water. Other drinks and meals not included.

2. Day 2: Kigali City Tour and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

   • After breakfast, embark on a guided Kigali City Tour.
   • Visit key landmarks including the Kigali Genocide Memorial, Kandt House Museum, local markets, and craft centres to learn about Rwanda’s history, culture, and transformation.
   • After lunch, depart Kigali and drive north to Volcanoes National Park while enjoying scenic views of rolling hills and rural landscapes.
   • Arrive at your lodge in the late afternoon for check in, dinner, and overnight stay at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge.

   Main destination: Volcanoes National Park

3. Day 3: Gorilla Trekking and Transfer to Akagera National Park

   • Enjoy an early breakfast before transferring to the park headquarters for gorilla trekking registration and briefing at 07:00 hrs.
   • Meet your assigned gorilla family and begin the trek through lush montane forest accompanied by experienced guides and trackers.
   • The trekking duration varies depending on gorilla movements, with one unforgettable hour spent observing the gorillas in their natural habitat.
   • After lunch at the lodge, depart Volcanoes National Park and drive east to Akagera National Park, Rwanda’s only savannah park.
   • Arrive in the evening for dinner and overnight stay at Ruzizi Tented Lodge.

   Main destination: Volcanoes National Park
   Accommodation: Ruzizi Tented Lodge. Luxury lodge located in Akagera National Park.
   Meals and drinks: All meals included and drinking water during the tour. Other drinks not included.

4. Day 4: Akagera National Park Guided Game Drive and Departure

   • After an early breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive in Akagera National Park.
   • Explore open plains, woodlands, and lakes while searching for wildlife including elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, lions, and a wide variety of bird species.
   • After the game drive, exit the park and transfer back to Kigali.
   • Enjoy lunch en route or in the city before continuing the journey.
   • Transfer to Kigali International Airport for your onward departure flight.

   Main destination: Akagera National Park and Kigali International Airport
   Accommodation: No accommodation. End of the trip.
