4-Day Gombe In-Depth Chimpanzee Safari Lake Tanganyika
Day 1: Dar es Salaam – Kigoma – Gombe Stream National Park
Early in the morning, you are transferred from your hotel in Dar es Salaam to Julius Nyerere International Airport for a scheduled domestic flight to Kigoma. Upon arrival, you are met by your guide and transferred to the lakeshore for a scenic boat journey across Lake Tanganyika to Gombe Stream National Park. On arrival, check in at your lodge and enjoy lunch. The afternoon is at leisure, with time to relax by the lakeshore or enjoy a gentle guided walk around the forest edge. Dinner and overnight at the Mbali Mbali Gombe lodge.- Main destination: Gombe Stream National Park

Day 2: Gombe Stream National Park – Chimpanzee Trekking
After an early breakfast, set out with a park ranger for an in-depth chimpanzee trekking experience in the forested valleys of Gombe. The trek may take several hours, depending on the location of the chimpanzee families, and once found, you will spend time observing their fascinating social behavior in their natural habitat. Return to the lodge for lunch and some rest. In the afternoon, enjoy a second forest walk or visit nearby waterfalls, where you may encounter other primates such as red colobus and vervet monkeys, as well as rich birdlife. Dinner and overnight at the Mbali Mbali Gombe lodge.- Main destination: Gombe Stream National Park

Day 3: Gombe Stream National Park – Further Exploration
This morning offers another opportunity for chimpanzee trekking, exploring a different part of the park to increase your chances of sightings and gain a deeper understanding of the ecosystem. After returning to the lodge for lunch, the afternoon is more relaxed, with the option of a scenic boat excursion along the shoreline of Lake Tanganyika or time to swim and unwind at the lodge. As the sun sets over the lake, enjoy the peaceful atmosphere before dinner and an overnight stay at the Mbali Mbali Gombe lodge.- Main destination: Gombe Stream National Park

Day 4: Gombe Stream National Park – Kigoma – Dar es Salaam

On arrival, you are transferred to Kigoma Airport for your scheduled flight back to Dar es Salaam. Arrival in Dar es Salaam marks the end of your in-depth Gombe Chimpanzee Experience.- Main destination: Dar es Salaam
