Situated near the banks of the Great Ruaha River, a massive watercourse that dwindles to only a few pools in the dry season, the Ruaha National Park offers exhilarating opportunities to come face to face with giraffes, lion, leopard, jackal, hippos, hyenas, gazelle, waterbuck, and African wild dogs. Birdwatching enthusiasts will be delighted by abundant bird species - over 350 of them - that frequent and populate these parts, while the untouched beauty of the rugged jungle landscape is bound to excite the explorer in everyone.

  • Day 1: Dar Es Salaam to Ruaha National Park expand_more
    • Depart from Dar Es Salaam on the 8:30 AM flight to arrive at the Msembe or Jongomero airstrips (depending on accommodation) around 11:00 AM. You may spot giraffes and elephants even before the plane touches the ground.

    • Drive to the camp, where you will enjoy a hearty lunch before commencing for a game drive in Ruaha National Park. 
    • Enjoy a scrumptious dinner and stay overnight in the selected camp accommodation. 

  • Day 2: Full Day Game Drive in Ruaha expand_more
    • Enjoy a hearty breakfast and set out for a full day game drive in Ruaha National Park, which boasts of a vast expanse of untouched nature that makes it one of the most exciting game reserves in the country.

    • Spot waterbuck, impala, and Grant's gazelles along the Great Ruaha River, which is the heart of the wildlife in the park. This is also a birdwatchers' paradise with over 350 species of local and migratory birds. The shores of the river also serve as a permanent hunting ground for lion, leopard, jackal, hyenas, and African wild dog, some of which you are bound to spot.
    • Enjoy a picnic lunch amidst the baobab trees before resuming the game drive, which will last until late evening.
    • Enjoy a scrumptious dinner before retreating for an overnight stay at the camp. 

  • Day 3: Ruaha to Dar Es Salaam expand_more
    • Enjoy an early breakfast and go for a sunrise game drive in Ruaha National Park. 

    • Transfer to the airstrip to catch the 11:45 flight back to Dar es Salaam.

    • Arrival and transfer at Dar es Salaam or Zanzibar.
