Machame route Kilimanjaro day hike up to the Machame Camp: The first camp requires daily hiking up to Machame Camp (11 km, 5 hrs) and returning that same day via the Machame route. Itinerary

Machame Gate to Machame Camp
- You will ascend with our knowledgeable mountain guide and a few porters to help carry the required supplies. Once you are driven about 35 kilometres from Moshi/Arusha, reaching Machame Gate will take around 45 minutes.
- Upon successful registration and entrance payment, a valid hiking permit is obtained. Beginning at Machame Gate, the hike will cover 11 kilometres (22 km in total) to reach Machame Camp; each way will take 5 hours to complete. Montane Forest is a major attraction, and it starts a few steps after crossing the main gate. It is a dense forest with many species of plants, such as Impatient Kilimanjaro, a flower found only on Mount Kilimanjaro. You will also see Blue Monkeys and black and white Colobus Monkeys. Lunch will be provided as part of your trip.
