Description

Tanzania's Ngorongoro Crater and Arusha National Park provide amazing opportunities to see animals. The Ngorongoro Crater is located around 80 miles west of Arusha, and Arusha National Park is about 25 miles east of the town. The dry season, which runs from June to October, is the ideal time to go because of the beautiful weather and concentration of species near water sources. Visit during the wet season (March to May) for an authentic experience because of the lush vegetation and reduced crowds. Be ready for sporadic showers of rain and the possibility of road closures owing to flooding.

Arusha to Arusha National Park
- Depart from Arusha and drive to Arusha National Park.
- Enjoy a game drive in the park, observing wildlife such as giraffes, zebras, buffalos, and various bird species.
- Visit the Momella Lakes, known for their vibrant colors and diverse birdlife.
- Take a hike to the Meru Crater or visit the Ngurdoto Crater.
- Overnight stay at a lodge or campsite within or near Arusha National Park.
Arusha to Ngorongoro Crater
- Depart from Arusha National Park and drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
- Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa’s most remarkable natural wonders.
- Enjoy a full day game drive in the crater, spotting an abundance of wildlife including lions, elephants, rhinos, hippos, and various antelope species.
- Have a picnic lunch at a designated spot within the crater.
- Ascend from the crater and return to Arusha.
