Itinerary

1. Day 1- Arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport

   • Arrive in Tanzania at Kilimanjaro airport.

   • Transfer to the hotel and get a briefing from the guide about the ascent of Mount Meru.

   Overnight in the hotel with half board.

2. Day 2- Arusha - Momella Gate (1700m) - Miriakamba hut (2500m)

   • After breakfast, transfer to the starting point.

   • Trek from Momella Gate (1500m) to Miriakamba (2500m) for 4-5 hours with a lunch box.

   • There are two routes from Momela to Miriakamba; Southern and Northern route.

   • While walking, one can come across giraffes, elephants, buffaloes, and more.

   • Enjoy views of lakes (Momella), Mount Kilimanjaro, and summit of Mt Meru.

   Overnight stay in a hut with full board.

3. Day 3- Miriakamba to Saddle Hut (3750m)

   • Trek from Miriakamba to Saddle takes about 3-4 hours.

   • After breakfast, begin to climb the mountain.

   • Enjoy views of lakes (Momella), Mount Kilimanjaro, and the summit of Mt Meru.

   • In the afternoon, climb the Little Meru (3800m) to acclimatize.

   Overnight stay in a hut with full board.

4. Day 4- Saddle - Summit - Miriakamba

   • At midnight, wake up for preparation and take a cup of tea before proceeding towards the Summit. The ascent can take about 5-6 hours.

   • In the morning, when the sun rises, the view is lovely. One can see different mountains like Kilimanjaro (5896m), Oldonyo Lengai (2800m), Longido (2800m), Kitmbeine, and Gerai.

   • After reaching the Summit (4656m), descend towards Saddle Hut for a break and lunch.

   • After lunch, descend to Miriakamba.

5. Day 5- Miriakamba - Momella Gate

   • After breakfast and packing up, depart to Momella gate, where those who completed the trek towards the summit get certificates.

   • Trek for 4.5-5 hours towards Momella Gate.

   • Upon arrival, meet the driver for transfer back to the hotel.
