Depart from Kampala at dawn and travel southwest through villages, cultivated farmlands, and scenic rolling hills.
Stop at the Equator for photographs before continuing to Mbarara for lunch.
Drive into the highlands as you approach Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas.
Arrive in the evening, check into your forest lodge, and enjoy dinner before resting for the next day’s trekking.
-
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking and Batwa Cultural Encounter
Begin your morning with breakfast then proceed to the Bwindi park headquarters for a full trekking briefing.
Start your guided trek at 9.00 a.m. through dense rainforest in search of a mountain gorilla family.
Spend one hour observing the gorillas as they feed, interact, and play in their natural habitat.
Return to the lodge to relax before heading out for a community visit to meet the Batwa forest people.
-
Day 3: Bwindi to Queen Elizabeth National Park via Ishasha
Enjoy breakfast then travel north towards Queen Elizabeth National Park through the Ishasha sector.
Explore the Ishasha region where the famous tree climbing lions are often seen resting in fig trees.
Continue into the park and, time permitting, enjoy an afternoon boat safari along the wildlife rich Kazinga Channel.
Observe hippos, elephants, buffalo, crocodiles, and abundant birdlife along the shores.
-
