The itinerary

Day 01

From Dar es Salaam to Selous and Rufiji River Boat Safari

Depart from Dar es Salaam at 08:30 am with a picnic lunch for Selous Game Reserve. The journey takes about 6 to 7 hours.
Embark on a 2 to 3-hour boat safari along the Rufiji River. The boat ride offers a high chance of spotting crocodiles, hippos, and water birds at close range.

Dinner and overnight at Selous Kinga Lodge.

Day 02

Full-Day Game Drive in Selous Game Reserve

Enjoy an early morning breakfast at the lodge, then depart for a full-day game drive.

Drive back to Selous Kinga Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 03

Walking Safari and Oxbow Lakes Game Drive

Take a 2 to 3-hour morning walking safari in the bush accompanied by an armed ranger. The walking safari offers a wonderful African wilderness experience. At times, you may find yourself walking next to zebra, giraffe, monkeys, and many other animals. This is also a good opportunity to identify different species of plants and birds.
Lunch at the lodge is followed by an afternoon game drive to the oxbow lakes. During the dry season, these lakes shrink and become home to many animals, particularly elephants, hippos, and buffaloes. A game drive along the lakes is magnificent, as animals can easily be spotted.

In the evening, drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
