Enjoy a safari in Mikumi national park, starting your journey from Dar es Salaam. Enjoy your evenings with Maasai traditions, including houses, polygamist marriage, making fire using sticks, and an entire game drive inside the park to explore the wildlife, mighty lion, and their herd. Embark on a thrilling game drive at the Mikumi National Park and have a chance to view at the wildlife.

Itinerary

Day 1: Dar es salaam to Mikumi national Park
- Pickup at your hotel at 7:30 am in Dar es Salaam. Drive to Mikumi national park (6-7 hours). Have hot lunch in Morogoro town.
- You will be able to see the same animals while on the way to Mikumi.
- You will be at Mikumi at 3:30 pm and go to the Bastian Hotel to pack your bag then to the Masai Boma to see their culture. Dinner overnight at Mikumi Bastian camp.
Day 2: Full game at Mikumi National Park
- After breakfast with a picnic lunch, drive to the park for the game drive.
- Enjoy the game drive inside the park with a great chance to spot many animals. Take your lunch in the afternoon and proceed with a game drive during dinner and overnight at Bastian camp. In Mikumi, you will see a wide variety of bird species, zebras, hippos, hartebeest, wildebeest, impala, warthog, eland antelope, giraffe, buffalo and elephants.
Day 3: Mikumi National Park to Dar es salaam at hotel, Airport or ferry
- After breakfast with picnic lunch at 7 am, depart to Dar es Salaam with en route game drive.
- Arrive late afternoon at your place/airport or Ferry.
Tour ends.

Know Before You Go

Bring soft luggage such as a duffel bag, hiking pack or sports bag. These are ideal for packing into a safari vehicle. Hard suitcases can often be challenging to fit into the vehicles.

Bring a backpack to carry all your essential items, including travel documents, money, camera, medication etc. You should keep this backpack with you at all times.

Keep luxury items such as hair dryers/ straighteners, expensive jewellery, makeup and bulky toiletries to an absolute minimum. If in doubt, leave them out.

If you plan to bring cash, divide it into different areas of your carry-on luggage, wallet and money belt just in case something happens to one of those carry items.

Leave space in your luggage for the all-important souvenirs you will probably buy. There are places where you can send packages home via DHL etc., however, this can sometimes be an expensive option.

Remember, it’s not a fashion show, so be more practical when choosing your safari wardrobe. Try to stay away from bright colours – khaki and other neutral colours tend to work well. It is probably best to dress in layers since it can get cold but also very hot.
