Itinerary

1. Day 1: Arrival in Tanzania

   • Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), a private transfer will take you to Arusha Safari Lodge. Located on the slope of Mt. Meru, the lodge offers a perfect place to prepare for your adventure.
   • You will have dinner and an overnight stay at the lodge, with bed, dinner, and breakfast included. A pre-climb briefing and equipment check will be conducted, and we will confirm that you have appropriate mandatory medical coverage and travel insurance.

2. Day 2: Marikamba Hut (Full Board)

   • We will drive from Arusha to Momela Gate, and after a short registration, we will begin our trek with a full-armed ranger escorting us.
   • Along the way, you may spot wild animals such as elephants, zebras, giraffes, monkeys, and antelopes.
   • We will trek through the stunning Montane Forest habitat and have dinner and an overnight stay at Marikamba Hut, with full board provided.

3. Day 3: Saddle Hut (Full Board)

   • We will trek from Miriakamba Hut to the saddle below Little Meru. The walk is a short day but a steep climb, taking us slowly along the ridge for a spectacular view of the Meru Crater and the impressive Ash Cone.
   • After a hot lunch at Saddle Hut, we can make a short climb to the summit of Little Meru (3,820m) for superb views just before sunset. We will have dinner and an overnight stay at Saddle Hut, with full board provided.

4. Day 4: Summit Day (Full Board)

   • We will start early at around 1:30 a.m. to climb steeply to Rhino Point and onto Cobra Point. We will reach the summit (4,566 m) on time for sunrise, with the possibility to see Kilimanjaro Peak above the clouds. The final part of the climb is along a spectacular narrow ridgeline between the sheer inner cliffs and the sloping outer wall of the crater.
   • After a short rest and brunch at Saddle Hut, we will continue the descent to Meriakamba Hut, covering Alpine Desert Moorland and Montane forest habitats.

   Dinner and an overnight stay will be at Arusha Safari Lodge, with full board provided.

5. Day 5: Marikamba Hut to Momella Gate to Arusha (Full Board)

   • We will take a fast descent through open grassland and mixed forest, with the possibility of spotting wildlife, before reaching Momella Gate in the late morning. The returning transfer will be waiting to take you back to Arusha at Safari Lodge.
   • We will have dinner and an overnight stay at Arusha Safari Lodge, with bed, dinner, and breakfast included.

6. Day 6: Depart Arusha

   • A private departure transfer is included from Arusha to Kilimanjaro International Airport.
   • If you wish, you can undertake the trek for your own personal or group charity, making a positive impact.
