Itinerary

1. Day 1: Tarangire National Park

   • Depart from Arusha in the morning for a 2-hour drive southwest to Tarangire National Park.

   • Arrive at Tarangire and embark on an afternoon game drive, focusing on the large elephant herds, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and various antelope species.

   • Spot predators such as lions, leopards, and cheetahs, along with over 550 bird species.

   • Check in to your lodge or tented camp inside or near the park.

   • Enjoy dinner and relax to the sounds of the African bush.

2. Day 2: Lake Manyara National Park

   • Depart from your lodge and drive approximately 1.5 to 2 hours southwest to Lake Manyara National Park.

   • Explore the park with a morning game drive, searching for the elusive tree-climbing lions and large troops of baboons.

   • Spot elephants, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, and wildebeest, as well as large flocks of flamingos on the lake.

   • Take part in a canoe ride on the lake, a treetop walkway, or a cultural visit to the nearby Mto wa Mbu village.

   • Check in to your accommodation near the park and enjoy dinner.

3. Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater

   • Drive 3-4 hours west to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

   • Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a full day of game viewing.

   • Explore the crater floor, home to over 25,000 animals, including lions, black rhinos, elephants, buffalo, and hyenas.

   • Spend the day observing wildlife and birdwatching, taking in the remarkable ecosystem of this UNESCO World Heritage site.

   • Return to your lodge or camp for dinner and overnight accommodation.

4. Day 4: Serengeti National Park

   • Depart from Ngorongoro and drive 6-8 hours north to Serengeti National Park, or take a domestic flight for a shorter journey.

   • Arrive in Serengeti and enjoy an introductory game drive through the park's endless plains, famous for its annual Great Migration.

   • Spot the "Big Five" and a variety of carnivores, including lions, cheetahs, and hyenas.

   • Check in to your lodge or tented camp and enjoy a relaxing evening with dinner.

5. Day 5: Serengeti National Park

   • Wake up early for a morning game drive, taking advantage of the cool hours when predators are most active.

   • Continue exploring the Serengeti, looking for wildlife and experiencing the breathtaking landscape.

   • Optional activities include hot air balloon safaris or a walking safari with a guide.

   • Enjoy a final game drive before either taking a flight back to Arusha or beginning your scenic drive back to the city.

   • Arrive in Arusha in the late afternoon or early evening.
