Itinerary

1. Day 1: Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park

   • Depart from Arusha after breakfast at approximately 8:00 AM.

   • Drive approximately 1.5 to 2 hours (about 126 kilometers) southwest to Lake Manyara National Park.

   • Arrive at the park and begin a game drive through diverse landscapes including groundwater forests, acacia woodlands, grassy plains, and the shallow alkaline lake.

   • Search for iconic wildlife such as tree-climbing lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, flamingos, and other bird species.

   • Pause for a picnic lunch at a designated scenic spot inside the park.

   • Continue the game drive in the afternoon and explore areas like the hippo pool and Maji Moto hot springs.

   • Exit the park in the late afternoon and drive 1 to 2 hours to accommodation near Lake Manyara or in the Karatu area.

   • Check into your lodge or campsite for dinner and overnight stay.

2. Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater and Return to Arusha

   • Wake up early and eat breakfast at your accommodation.

   • Drive approximately 1 hour to the Ngorongoro Crater entrance.

   • Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its dense wildlife population.

   • Explore the crater floor on a game drive and search for the "Big Five": lions, elephants, leopards, buffaloes, and black rhinoceroses.

   • Observe additional species such as wildebeests, zebras, hyenas, and a variety of birds.

   • Enjoy a picnic lunch at a designated area, often near a hippo pool or scenic viewpoint.

   • Continue the game drive in the afternoon and visit different habitats within the crater.

   • Ascend from the crater in the late afternoon and begin the drive back to Arusha.

   • Arrive in Arusha in the late afternoon or early evening, where the trip concludes.
