Itinerary

1. Day 1: Mikumi Wildlife Focus

   • Depart early from Dar es Salaam (6:00 – 7:00 AM) in a private vehicle to Mikumi National Park (approximately 4–6 hours drive).

   • Arrive late morning and check in at your pre-booked accommodation near or inside Mikumi.

   • Have a quick lunch and prepare for the afternoon game drive.

   • Embark on a 3–4-hour game drive in Mikumi National Park, focusing on the wildlife in the Mkata Plains, where large elephant herds, lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and abundant birdlife are commonly seen.

   • Drive late afternoon to the Udzungwa Mountains area (approximately 1–2 hours).

   • Check in at your chosen accommodation near Udzungwa.

   Have dinner and overnight at the accommodation.

2. Day 2: Udzungwa Hiking & Return to Dar es Salaam

   • Begin the day with an early breakfast.

   • Hike in Udzungwa Mountains National Park (4–6 hours). Opt for the Sanje Falls trail (approximately 4 hours) to view a stunning waterfall and enjoy swimming. Alternatively, take a shorter forest walk to explore the unique biodiversity and spot primates like the Iringa red colobus monkey.

   • Have a packed lunch during or after the hike.

   • Depart in the afternoon for the return drive to Dar es Salaam (approximately 5–7 hours).

   • Arrive back at your hotel in Dar es Salaam in the evening, concluding your 2-day trip.
