Arrival in Bukoba travel to Rumanyika-Karagwe
Morning (8:00 AM - 12:00 PM)
- 8:00 AM: Depart from Bukoba. The drive to the park can take 3-4 hours, so it's best to start early. You can hire a car or arrange transportation through a tour operator.
- 11:00 AM: Arrive at the park entrance. Pay the entrance fee and, if desired, hire a guide. While not always mandatory, a guide can enhance your experience by providing insights into the park's flora, fauna, and history.
- 11:30 AM: Begin your game drive. Rumanyika-Karagwe is home to a variety of wildlife, including buffaloes, waterbucks, leopards, bushbucks, monkeys, baboons, and a wide array of birds. Keep your eyes peeled for these creatures as you traverse the park's tracks.
Afternoon (12:00 PM - 4:00 PM)
- 1:00 PM: Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park. Pack your own food and drinks, and find a scenic spot to relax and enjoy your meal amidst nature.
- 2:00 PM: Continue your game drive or opt for a walking safari with a ranger. Walking safaris offer a more immersive experience, allowing you to appreciate the smaller details of the park's ecosystem.
- 3:30 PM: Visit the viewpoint. The park offers stunning views of the surrounding landscapes, including the valley with the winding river that breaks into lakes and swamps.
Evening (4:00 PM onwards)
- 4:00 PM: Begin your return journey to Bukoba.
- 7:00 PM: Arrive back in Bukoba, where you can relax and reflect on your day's adventures.
