Itinerary

1. Day 1- Arrival and Western Mkomazi Exploration

   Morning:

   • Arrive at Mkomazi, either by road or a small airstrip.
   • Check in to your chosen accommodation (lodge or tented camp).
   • Briefing from your guide about the park and safety guidelines.

   Afternoon:

   • Begin your first game drive in the western areas of the park.
   • Focus on searching for general game, such as zebras, giraffes, and various antelope species.
   • Pay close attention to birdlife, as Mkomazi is a birdwatcher's paradise.
   • If possible, begin the search for wild dog activity, as they can roam large distances.

   Evening:

   • Enjoy a sundowner with views of the Mkomazi landscape.
   • Night game drive (if available) to look for nocturnal animals.
   • Dinner and overnight at your accommodation.

2. Day 2- Rhino Sanctuary and Eastern Mkomazi

   Morning:

   • Early morning visit to the black rhinoceros sanctuary.
   • This is a highlight of Mkomazi, providing a chance to see these critically endangered animals up close.
   • Learn about the conservation efforts to protect them.

   Afternoon:

   • Game drive in the eastern sections of the park, exploring different habitats.
   • Continue searching for African wild dogs, and other predators like lions and leopards.
   • Focus on the unique antelope species, such as oryx and gerenuk.

   Evening:

   • Enjoy a final game drive, or relax at the lodge.
   • Depart from Mkomazi.
