1. Full-Day Materuni Culture, Coffee, and Waterfalls Experience

   • Depart from Moshi in the morning and drive approximately 30–40 minutes to Materuni Village, located in the lush foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro.

   • Receive a warm welcome from a local Chagga guide who will introduce you to the village and outline the day’s activities.

   • Begin a scenic walk from the village towards Materuni Waterfall, a journey of approximately 30–40 minutes through tropical vegetation.

   • Admire the smaller waterfalls, natural springs, and intricate irrigation channels that sustain local agriculture.

   • Reach the 150-metre-high Materuni Waterfall and take time to enjoy the spectacular view and refreshing atmosphere.

   • Capture photographs of the dramatic cascade surrounded by verdant cliffs and rich flora.

   • Return to the village along the same path, observing more of the local landscape and agricultural practices.

   • Join a hands-on coffee tour led by local farmers who will share traditional coffee cultivation methods.

   • Pick fresh coffee cherries, remove the outer skin, and learn how to wash and prepare the beans for drying.

   • Grind dried coffee beans by hand using traditional tools, creating aromatic coffee grounds.

   • Roast the coffee over an open fire and savour the rich aroma as the beans transform in colour and flavour.

   • Brew and enjoy a freshly prepared cup of Materuni coffee, appreciating the full process from plant to cup.

   • Discover Chagga cultural traditions, including insights into their home structure, diet, and animal-rearing practices.

   • Enjoy a locally prepared lunch featuring regional specialities and seasonal produce (optional).

   • Conclude the experience with an opportunity to purchase locally grown coffee and handmade souvenirs before returning to Moshi.
