Day 1: Lemosho Gate to Mti Mkubwa Camp (2,650 m)
Your trek begins with a drive to Lemosho Gate for registration, followed by a short transfer to the starting point. You hike through a quiet and pristine rainforest filled with wildlife, towering trees, and fresh forest air. The trail is gentle and peaceful as you ascend toward Mti Mkubwa Camp, where you enjoy your first dinner on the mountain.

Day 2: Mti Mkubwa Camp to Shira 2 Camp (3,850 m)
After breakfast, the trail leads you out of the forest and into the heather and moorland zone. The scenery opens up, revealing views of Shira Ridge and the Shira Plateau. You ascend steadily, crossing streams and open landscapes before arriving at Shira 1 Camp lunch and continue hiking across the Shira Plateau, one of the highest plateaus in Africa. The trail offers easy walking with panoramic views of Kibo Peak. You arrive at Shira 2 Camp, where you rest, hydrate, and enjoy a peaceful evening under the stars.

Day 3: Shira 2 Camp to Lava Tower (4,600 m) to Barranco Camp (3,900m)
This is your key acclimatization day. The trail leads upward toward the Lava Tower, where you stop for lunch at high altitude, helping your body adapt. From there, you descend into the beautiful Barranco Valley, famous for its giant Senecio plants. You arrive at Barranco Camp, one of the most scenic camps on the route.

Day 4: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp (3,995 m)
Your day begins with the exciting climb up the Barranco Wall, a fun scramble that rewards you with amazing views over the valley. The trail continues through rolling ridges and valleys before reaching Karanga Camp, where you enjoy a short day of rest and acclimatization. This day is important preparation for the altitude ahead.

Day 5: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp (4,673 m)
After breakfast, you continue upward through the alpine desert, following a steady incline toward Barafu Camp, the base camp for your summit attempt. The landscape is harsh but beautiful, with views stretching across the mountain. After an early dinner, you rest and prepare for the midnight ascent to the summit.

Day 6: Summit Uhuru Peak (5,895 m) – Descent to MwekaCamp
Around midnight, you begin the final ascent toward Stella Point, where the sunrise reveals an unforgettable landscape of glaciers and clouds. From there, you continue to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. After celebrating your achievement, you descend back to Barafu for a short rest before continuing to Mweka Camp for you overnight rest.

Day 8: Mweka Hut – Mweka Gate – Moshi
After breakfast, continue descending through the rainforest to Mweka Gate for certificate collection.
Your driver transfers you back to Moshi for a hot shower, celebrations, and well-deserved rest.
