Itinerary

1. Day 1: Lake Manyara National Park Game Drive

   • Depart from your lodge in Arusha and proceed to Lake Manyara National Park.

   • Enter Lake Manyara National Park, one of the most diverse reserves in Tanzania despite its small size.

   • Explore landscapes featuring groundwater forest, open grasslands, soda lake shores and the Great Rift Valley escarpment.

   • Enjoy a picnic lunch within the park surrounded by open grassy areas, hot springs, dense woodlands and steep mountainsides.

   • Observe rich birdlife with more than 350 bird species and look out for the famous tree climbing lions.

   • Conclude the game drive and proceed to Nsya Lodge for dinner and overnight stay on a full board basis.

2. Day 2: Serengeti National Park via Olduvai Gorge

   • Depart and proceed to Olduvai Gorge, known as the Cradle of Mankind in the Great Rift Valley.

   • Learn about early hominid remains dating back nearly two million years discovered at the site.

   • Continue to Serengeti National Park, the world’s most famous wildlife sanctuary.

   • Explore the endless plains of Serengeti, covering an area of approximately 5,600 square miles.

   • Enjoy rich game viewing within one of the oldest ecosystems on earth.

   • Proceed to Serengeti Wild Tented Lodge for dinner and overnight stay on a full board basis.

3. Day 3: Full Day Game Drive in Serengeti National Park

   • Embark on another game drive within Serengeti National Park.

   • Observe one of the most varied collections of wildlife in the world.

   • Learn about the annual Great Migration occurring between May and December.

   • Spot herds of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle along with elephants, giraffes and buffalo.

   • Watch predators such as lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas and jackals in their natural habitat.

   • Return to Serengeti Wild Tented Lodge for dinner and overnight stay on a full board basis.

4. Day 4: Game Drive in Ngorongoro Crater

   • Depart from Serengeti National Park and travel to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

   • Descend into Ngorongoro Crater, the largest intact volcanic crater in the world.

   • Explore the crater floor, home to approximately 30,000 animals.

   • Look for sightings of the Big Five including lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo and leopard.

   • Experience this world class attraction often referred to as the Eighth Wonder of the World.

   • Proceed to Ngorongoro Wild Tented Lodge for dinner and overnight stay on a full board basis.

5. Day 5: Ngorongoro to Arusha

   • Enjoy breakfast before departing the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

   • Travel back to Arusha after the safari.

   • With prior arrangements, transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for departure.
