Description

Ascend Tanzania's second-highest mountain, Mount Meru, in this 4-day expedition starting from Arusha. Witness Mount Kilimanjaro's little sister standing at 4,566m with an impressive freestanding volcano, which makes for a superb climb to the top. Explore nature with this mountaineering expedition.

  • Day 1: Arusha to Mariakamba hut expand_more

    • Depart Arusha about 8:30 am after breakfast and drive to Momella Gate. 

    • Make payment and start the climb with picnic lunch to the first hut called Miriakamaba Hut. 

    Dinner and overnight - Miriakamba Hut (3 ½ hrs)

  • Day 2: Mariakamba to Saddle hut expand_more

    • Proceed with a climb to the second hut called Saddle after breakfast. This is too steep part compared to the first part (2 ½ ).  During the afternoon, the client can decide to attempt climbing little Meru peak and back (1).

    Dinner and overnight - Saddle Hut

  • Day 3: Mount Meru Summit Ascent expand_more

    • Wake up at middle-night and have a cup of tea before starting attempt big Meru peak. 

    • Proceed to summit crossing rocky path and back to Saddle hut for full breakfast.  The day will be spent resting.

    Lunch, dinner and overnight at Saddle Hut

  • Day 4: Saddle Hut to Arusha expand_more

    • Leave Saddle Hut and descend to Momella Gate via first hut (Miriakamba) where you will be transferred to Arusha/Moshi.

  • 3 meals per day while trekking: Vegetarian/non - vegetarian

  • 4 days Mount Meru trek

  • 3 nights’ accommodation in huts while trekking Mount Meru
