Day 1: Babati, Katesh & Barbaig Village expand_more
Meet your tour guide at a pre-decided location and set out on your tour.
Begin with a 70-km bus ride from Babati to Katesh and enjoy lunch in a local hotel.
Upon reaching Katesh, start on a 16-km bushwalk towards the Mangati plains to Dirma, a Barabaig nomadic village.
Arrive at Dirma, where you will be warmly welcomed at the boma, or household, of Mzee Gavachu.
Meet Barabaig people and experience their hospitality as you interact with them via your Barabaig guide.
Feast on an authentic Barabaig dinner.
Rest in traditional huts on skin-beds.

Day 2: Experience Barabaig Life in Dirma expand_more
Begin your day with a traditional Barabaig breakfast.
Spend a relaxed day in the village. Interact with the villagers, gain cultural insights on their way of life, take photographs together, and learn more about their rituals, religion, marriage and death ceremonies, taboos, and other traditional customs.
Observe how they make their ornaments and goatskin gowns. Learn how the famous Gisuda honey brew is prepared.
Try to herd cattle or fetch water the Barabaig way.
Visit the only school and dispensary and interact with the teachers and nurses.
Rest in your hut after a fun and fascinating day at the Barabaig village.

- Begin your day with a traditional Barabaig breakfast.
Set out on your bushwalk back to Katesh, where you will have your lunch.
Proceed for a bus trip back to Babati or Arusha.
