Itinerary

1. Day 1: Tunis – Kairouan – Tozeur

   • Early morning pickup from your hotel and departure south.
   • Visit Kairouan, one of the holiest cities in Islam and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
   • Enjoy a guided visit of the Great Mosque of Kairouan.
   • Stop at the Aghlabid Basins and walk through the old Medina.
   • Continue towards Tozeur, crossing changing desert landscapes.
   • Arrive in Tozeur, the gateway to the Sahara.
   • Dinner and overnight stay in a 4 star hotel in Tozeur.

2. Day 2: Chebika – Tamerza – Chott El Gharsa – Ong Jmal – Mos Espa – Desert Camp

   • Depart towards the mountain oases.
   • Visit Chebika Oasis, famous for its natural springs and mountain scenery.
   • Visit Tamerza Oasis and its waterfalls.
   • Cross Chott El Gharsa, a spectacular salt lake.
   • Visit Ong Jmal and Mos Espa, iconic Star Wars filming locations.
   • Enjoy lunch in a local restaurant.
   • Cross Chott El Jerid, the largest salt lake in Tunisia, with a photo stop.
   • Arrive at the Sahara desert camp.
   • Enjoy free time with optional quad ride or camel ride available at extra cost.
   • Take part in traditional sand bread preparation.
   • Enjoy dinner and a Bedouin evening around the campfire.

   Overnight under the stars in a desert tent.

3. Day 3: Douz – Matmata – El Djem – Return

   • Enjoy breakfast at the desert camp.
   • Depart to Douz, known as the Gateway to the Sahara.
   • Continue to Matmata.
   • Visit a local Berber family in their troglodyte house.
   • Visit the famous Sidi Idriss Hotel, a Star Wars filming location.
   • Enjoy lunch in a local restaurant.
   • Drive to El Djem.
   • Enjoy a guided visit of the Roman Amphitheater of El Djem, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
   • Begin the return journey and end of services.
