Itinerary

1. Day-1 Shavat Border to Kunya Urgench and Darvaza

   • Meet the guide at Dashoguz Shavat border and assist with border formalities, with timing depending on crossing time.
   • Drive to Kunya Urgench UNESCO World Heritage site for approximately 1.5 hours.
   • Visit Kutlug Timur Minaret, Turabek Khanym Mausoleum, Mausoleums of Najmuddin Kubra and Sultan Tekesh.
   • Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.
   • Continue drive to Darvaza Gas Crater for approximately 4 to 5 hours.
   • Arrive at Darvaza Gas Crater known as the Door to Hell and watch sunset and night flames.
   • Dinner cooked over fire at desert camp.

   Overnight stay in traditional yurts near the crater.

2. Day-2 Dashoguz to Ashgabat

   • Breakfast at the camp.
   • Drive to Ashgabat for approximately 4 hours.
   • Arrive and check in at hotel with short rest.
   • Visit Old Nissa Parthian capital UNESCO site including temple area, royal mausoleums and city fortifications.
   • Lunch at a local restaurant.
   • City tour to Gokdepe Fortress and Museum, Gokdepe Blue Mosque and Akhal Teke Horse Farm with optional horseback ride.
   • Dinner at traditional restaurant.

   Overnight stay in Ashgabat hotel .

3. Day-3 Ashgabat City Tour

   • Breakfast at the hotel.
   • Visit Wedding Palace, Yyldyz Hotel viewpoint, Constitution Monument, Arch of Neutrality, Independence Monument and Park, Ertogrul Gazi Mosque, Ashgabat Olympic Stadium and Halk Hakydasy Memorial Complex.
   • Lunch at a local restaurant.
   • Optional visits to National Museum of History, Turkmen Carpet Museum and Alem Cultural and Entertainment Center.
   • Dinner at traditional restaurant.

   Overnight stay in Ashgabat hotel.

4. Day-4 Ashgabat to Turkmenbashi Avaza

   • Breakfast at the hotel.
   • Drive to Avaza coastal region.
   • Visit scenic viewpoint overlooking Caspian Sea bay.
   • Lunch at seaside restaurant or hotel.
   • Explore Avaza resort area including canals, modern architecture and beach walk.
   • Optional water activities such as boat or jet ski if available.
   • Sunset at Caspian Sea.
   • Dinner at seaside restaurant or hotel.

   Overnight stay in Turkmenbashi hotel .

5. Day-5 Avaza to Ashgabat via Yangykala Canyon

   • Early breakfast and drive to Yangykala Canyon for scenic exploration.
   • Visit Gozli Ata Mausoleum pilgrimage site.
   • Lunch en route or in Balkanabat.
   • Visit Kow Ata Underground Lake and swim in thermal waters.
   • Return to Ashgabat and check in hotel.
   • Dinner at traditional restaurant.

6. Day-6 Ashgabat to Mary and Ancient Merv

   • Breakfast at the hotel.
   • Drive to Mary for approximately 3 hours.
   • Visit Ancient Merv UNESCO site including Sultan Sanjar Mausoleum, Kyz Kala, Erk Kala and Gyaur Kala.
   • Lunch in Mary.
   • Short city tour of Mary including Central Park and local bazaar.
   • Dinner at local restaurant.

   Overnight stay in Mary hotel.

7. Day-7 Mary to Farap Border

   • Breakfast at the hotel.
   • Transfer to Farap border for approximately 3 to 4 hours.
   • Lunch in Lebap or Turkmenabat.
   • Complete border formalities and departure to Uzbekistan Bukhara.
   • End of tour.
