Itinerary

1. Day 1: Shavat Border – Kunya Urgench – Darvaza

   • Meet your guide at the Shavat border and complete border formalities.
   • Drive to Kunya-Urgench, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and explore its historical monuments.
   • Visit the Kutlug Timur Minaret, Turabek-Khanym Mausoleum, and the Mausoleums of Najmuddin Kubra and Sultan Tekesh.
   • Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.
   • Continue across the Karakum Desert to the Darvaza Gas Crater, arriving at sunset.
   • Witness the flames of the “Door to Hell” at night and have dinner over an open fire.

   Overnight in traditional yurts near the crater.

2. Day 2: Darvaza – Ashgabat

   • Breakfast at the desert camp.
   • Drive to Ashgabat with an optional stop at the Eastern Bazaar for souvenirs.
   • Check-in and rest at the hotel.
   • Explore Ashgabat’s landmarks including Independence Monument, Neutrality Arch, Ertugrul Gazi Mosque.
   • Enjoy panoramic views of the city’s white-marble architecture and visit a modern shopping centre.
   • Dinner at a traditional restaurant.

   Overnight in Ashgabat.

3. Day 3: Ashgabat – Old Nisa – Mary – Ancient Merv

   • Breakfast at the hotel.
   • Morning: Explore Old Nisa (UNESCO), an ancient Parthian fortress
   • National Museum in Ashgabat
   • Evening: Transfer to Mary(apporx 3 hours). 
   • Dinnner upon arrival

   Overnight: Hotel in Mary

4. Day 4: Mary – Farap Border

   • Enjoy breakfast at the hotel.
   • Take a short city tour of Mary including the Central Bazaar.
   • Visit Merv and admire the Sultan Sanjar Mausoleum.
   • Explore the Kyz Kala Fortresses.
   • Discover Erk Kala and Gyaur Kala, ancient Silk Road citadels rich in history.
   • Enjoy lunch at a traditional restaurant in Mary.
   • Drive approximately 3 to 4 hours to the Farap Border, complete exit formalities and depart to Uzbekistan.
   • End of the tour.
