Itinerary

1. Day 1: Shavat Border – Kunya-Urgench – Darvaza

   • Meet your guide at the Shavat border and complete border formalities.
   • Drive to Kunya-Urgench, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and explore its historical monuments.
   • Visit the Kutlug Timur Minaret, Turabek-Khanym Mausoleum, and the Mausoleums of Najmuddin Kubra and Sultan Tekesh.
   • Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.
   • Continue across the Karakum Desert to the Darvaza Gas Crater, arriving at sunset.
   • Witness the flames of the “Door to Hell” at night and have dinner over an open fire.

   Overnight in traditional yurts near the crater.

2. Day 2: Darvaza – Ashgabat

   • Breakfast at the desert camp.
   • Drive to Ashgabat with an optional stop at the Eastern Bazaar for souvenirs.
   • Check-in and rest at the hotel.
   • Explore Ashgabat’s landmarks including Independence Monument, Neutrality Arch, Ertugrul Gazi Mosque, and the 
   • Enjoy panoramic views of the city’s white-marble architecture and visit a modern shopping centre.
   • Dinner at a traditional restaurant.

   Overnight in Ashgabat.

3. Day 3: Ashgabat – Old Nisa – Mary – Ancient Merv

   • Breakfast at the hotel.
   • Morning: Explore Old Nisa (UNESCO), an ancient Parthian fortress

     National Carpet Museum:
     • Learn traditional weaving techniques
      • Immerse in Turkmen culture

     Afternoon – Ashgabat Golf Club:
     • Discover landscaped grounds, 18-hole course, practice facilities, and clubhouse
     • Play golf optionally for an extra fee
      • Relax, photograph, or enjoy a short golf session

     Evening: Transfer ~3 hrs to Mary. Dine upon arrival

     Overnight: Hotel in Mary

4. Day 4: Mary – Farap Border (Exit)

   • Morning: Enjoy breakfast. Take a short city tour of Mary: Central Bazaar & Pokrovskaya Church (optional)

     Excursion – Ancient Merv (UNESCO):
     • Admire Sultan Sanjar Mausoleum
     • Explore Kyz Kala Fortresses
      • Discover Erk Kala & Gyaur Kala, Silk Road citadels steeped in history

     Lunch: Traditional restaurant in Mary

     Afternoon: Drive ~3–4 hrs to Farap Border, complete formalities, and depart to Uzbekistan (Bukhara)
