Hi, my name is Afonso and I'll be your host!

I was born at the West of Portugal, at a beach close to Peniche and raised between this region and the north of Portugal at a small village called Chaves.

I moved then to Porto to take my degree in Tourism.During the following years I have worked in big events production and 18 years ago I moved to Gstaad - a fancy Ski Resort at the Suisse Alps.During the winter I still escort my guests through the amazing landscape of The Alps doing one of my passions - snowboarding.

Due to my connection to different regions of Portugal, during the last years I've started being more interested in Gastronomy and Wines and particularly by the Douro Region, so in 2018 and after taking the level 1 of the course WSET - Wine and Spirits Education Trust I've launched the Douro Call Experience - a non-touristic tour through the outstanding landscapes of the Douro region, plenty of wine and local food!

I have depth knowledge of my country, a warm personality and a great sense of humor and I'm also passionate for photography, surfing and travelling.

I love welcoming guests at my country and be able to share stories and experiences, while enjoying an amazing landscape and world class wine!
