Itinerary

1. Day 1: Arrival & City Tour

   • Pickup transfer to the lodge and check-in.
   • Depending on arrival time, proceed for a short city tour.
   • Visit local markets and observe daily life.
   • Transfer back to the lodge for rest.

2. Day 2: Bird Watching & Cultural Encounters

   • Pickup after breakfast and transfer to bird-watching site.
   • Spot the newly found Bird of Paradise.
   • Meet and interact with a cultural tribe, with opportunities for photos.
   • Enjoy a local lunch.
   • Visit Rondon Bridge for panoramic views of Mt. Hagen.

   Optional stop at a supermarket before returning to the lodge.

3. Day 3: Village Tour & Tribal Performances

   • Pickup at 8:00 am for a road trip to Baiye village.
   • Visit a historic missionary prayer hill.
   • Witness live tribal performances.
   • Have lunch and enjoy a 50-minute trek.

   Drive back to the lodge, concluding the Mt. Hagen tour.

4. Day 4: Highlands Road Trip to Goroka

   • Pickup at 8:00 am and begin the road trip through the Highlands.
   • Stop in Simbu to visit the Skeleton Tribe (1-hour cultural interaction).
   • Continue the journey with lunch en route.
   • Travel along the breathtaking Highlands Highway connecting Highlands to the Coast.

   Arrive in Goroka and check into the lodge.

5. Day 5: Kids Festival & Asaro Mudmen

   • Early morning pickup at 8:00 am to attend the children’s day of Goroka Festival.
   • Witness traditional tribes’ performances.
   • Visit the famous Asaro Mudmen (1-hour drive from town).
   • Enjoy a traditional lunch in the village.

   Return to the lodge for rest.

6. Day 6: Main Show of Goroka Festival

   • Pickup and transfer to the main venue of the Goroka Festival.
   • Witness colorful traditional attire and epic performances.
   • Interact with locals in their tribal costumes.
   • Have lunch.
   • Visit more tribes outside the main show for deeper cultural immersion.

   Return to the lodge for the evening.

7. Day 7: Final Day & Farewell to Goroka

   • Pickup after breakfast and transfer to the last day of Goroka Festival.
   • Enjoy final epic performances and mingle with locals.
   • Have lunch at the festival.
   • Take a short drive to witness traditional ground oven and bamboo cooking.
   • Share moments with locals, take photos, and learn about village lifestyle.

   Return to the lodge, marking the end of the 7-day Goroka Festival tour.
