Description
Mount Wilhelm is the highest mountain in Papua New Guinea at 4,509 metres (14,793 ft). It is part of the Bismarck Range and the peak is the point where three provinces, Chimbu, Jiwaka and Madang, meet.
The mountain is on the island of New Guinea, which incorporates Papua New Guinea and the Indonesian provinces of Papua.
Mount Wilhelm may be considered the highest mountain in Oceania (including Australia and New Zealand) according to present political boundaries of nation states, while Puncak Jaya contends for the same title based on physical geography. A Seven Summits list thus sometimes includes Mount Wilhelm lasted until about 23,000 before present.
Climbing Mount Wilhelm is one of the toughest challenges in Papua New Guinea. In fact, it is the tallest peak in Oceania at 4,509m. The journey to base camp and then the summit requires planning, determination, and hopefully some good weather.
Mount Giluwe is the second highest mountain in Papua New Guinea at 4,367 metres (14,327 ft.) and the fifth highest peak on the island of New Guinea. Mt. Giluwe is the only Papua New Guinea Highlands shield volcano. The 30-km-wide basaltic-andesitic volcano has numerous cinder cones and lava domes; the upper slopes are heavily dissected by glaciers. The latest volcanism may post-date the younger glaciation.

Goroka Show 2025 Experience
Goroka Show 2025 and Experience (No: 5/25)
The Goroka Show is a well-known tribal gathering and cultural event in Papua New Guinea. It is a sing-sing held every year close to the country's Independence Day (16 September) in the town of Goroka, the capital of the Eastern Highlands Province. About 100 tribes arrive to show their music, dance and culture.[1] The festival started in the mid-1950s as an initiative of Australian Kiaps. In recent years it has become a major attraction for both national and international tourists and remains the largest cultural event in Papua New Guinea despite similar shows now being organized in Mount Hagen and other cities around the country.
