Full Day Tour to the South Valley from Cusco
Leave Cusco early and drive about 40 minutes to Andahuaylillas, home to the famous church known as the "Sistine Chapel of the Americas." Inside, you will see Cusco-style murals, paintings, wood carvings, and embroidered altars.
Next, visit the pre-Inca ruins of Pikillacta, built by the Wari culture, followed by a short walk to Rumicolca, thought to have served as a gateway to the southern Inca Empire.
The final stop is Tipón, famed for its Inca terraces and irrigation.
Optionally, try traditional roasted cuy (guinea pig) in a nearby town before heading back to Cusco.
