Description
Support the local community by embarking on this journey across the Huayhuash mountain range that is teeming with fantastical lakes, towering peaks, and rugged mountain passes. Camping along lakes is one of the most endearing experiences of this journey.
Itinerary

Day 1: Acclimatizing for full day
Make the most of this day reserved for acclimatization. During which, you can give some donations to the nearby villages.
Do multiple stops to visit maybe lakes, some point of views natural touristic places, or local artisans or observe know local traditions and culture. Arriving at the right person or community. The Huaraz tour guides will make a donation in presence of contributors so they can witness the real benefits instead of making deposits in black bank accounts.
At a proper time, return to Huaraz Hotel. Arriving at 7 pm, from any place.

Day 2: Huaraz – Llamac – Cuartelhuain
Pack your bags and leave Huaraz for Llamac 3350m. (5 hours).
Drive south and cross the wild paramo (puna) Conococha pass 4500m, passing the southernmost peaks of the Cordillera Blanca. The Huayhuash range, containing in a single cluster seven of the highest and most dramatic summits in Peru, reveals itself on your descent to the small town of Llamac.
Continue going-up through the Pocpa valley, and reach a peasant town, typically called Pocpa 3600. It is the last town in this valley where you can buy some soda drinks for the sunny way.
After a few hours of trekking, approx. at 1 pm, arrive in Pallca where you will have lunch.
From here, after half an hour, get to your camping site at Matacancha (4100 masl). Here, appreciate the Ninashanca Mountain (5607 masl), Rondoy (5870 masl).
Overnight camping at Cuartelhuain at (4200masl).

Day 3: Cuartelhuain – Mitucocha
After breakfast, ready our things and at 8 am start your trek. This hike is going to be a bit difficult because climbing to the pass will take you about 2 or 3 hours.
From the pass, go down and then go-up for approx 30 minutes.
Have lunch after the small climb.
Talke the alternative trail to get early to the campsite and prevent taking the same route the next day. On this route, appreciate the Andean rabbits called Vizcachas.
Arrive at the campsite early and then go fishing around the lake while your cook prepares the dinner.

Day 4: Mitucocha – Carhuacocha
After breakfast, start trekking at 8 am.
Reach the pass after a 3-hour hike where you will have lunch. Enjoy the view of white peaked mountains such as Yerupaja, Jirishanca, and Siula.
Get to the campsite around 3 or 4 pm. You will be surprised by a beautiful lake, keeping the mountain’s silhouettes green coloured.
Set up camp at a special place facing the lake.

Day 5: Carhuacocha – Siula Pass( 4850 masl) - Huayhuash
At 8 am after breakfast, start your trek.
Be amazed by the three different colour lakes of Siula Lake.
Get to the Siula Pass at 4850 masl, and have lunch next to the Carnicero lakes.
Hike down to your camping place, 4350 masl.

Day 6: Huayhuash – Viconga
After breakfast, continue your trekking. Easy going-up to the Portachuelo de Huayhuash Pass.
From here, go down to the camp place Viconga to have lunch.
Go to the hot springs, 20 minutes walking down from the camp place; the others who don’t want to go to the hot springs will have a free afternoon and rest in the camp place. The camp place will be at 4390 masl.

Day 7: Viconga – Cuyoc pass (5000 masl) – Santa Rosa
Go up moderately to the highest pass of the whole trip which will take you approximately 3 hours. This time will be enjoyable because the Cuyoc Mountain will be closer to you.
Reach the highest pass on your trek.
Then, head down the Guanacpatay valley to have lunch. The pass is very dust and rocky after it.
Reach the beautiful field full of grass and take a walk where you will have lunch.
After a few hours of walking, find your campsite in the peaceful Valley of Guanacpatay at 4150 masl.

Day 8: Santa Rosa – Siula Cutatambo – Huayllapa
Enjoy a typical breakfast and then start climbing to Santa Rosa Pass.
Get to the pass in about 2 hours and enjoy the beautiful views of the Siula Mountains. The historical area for cinema stars, as the film “Touching the Void” was made in the Siula Mountain.
Start hiking along the valley, down to Huayllapa. This small isolated peasant village lies at 3490 masl that has small Andean shops selling soda drinks, and first house necessities.
Arrive around 6 pm to have dinner.
Go shopping around the village, then dinner and Overnight in Huayllapa 3490m,

Day 9: Huayllapa – Cashpapampa
Go-up to the Tapush pass 4800masl in about 5 hours.
Walk down the easy trail for about two hours.
Arrive at the camp place late in the afternoon.
Overnight at 4417 masl 7.5 mi (12 km)

Day 10: Cashpapampa – Jahuacocha
After breakfast, start trekking the moderate route to the Yaucha Pass (4800 masl). Stay in the pass for a couple of hours.
After rest, continue going down along the Huacrish ravine for approx three or four hours, and suddenly you will be surprised by a beautiful panoramic landscape. The Jahuacocha lake in the base of the mountains Jirishanca, Yerupaja, and Rondoy, a beautiful green colour lake that lies at 4066 masl camp place.
Enjoy the spectacular avalanches coming down from the base of the mountains Jirishanca.
Next, head to your camp.
Find a typical Mountain hut for sheepherders.
Overnight in Jahuacocha at 4050 masl

Day 11: Jahuacocha Rest Day
Wake up as you desire late, as this beautiful place offers you the relaxing campsite.
Go fishing and hike up around Rasac Lake.
Continue to Solterococha.
Get back to the campsite in the afternoon.
Dinner and overnight at Jahacocha Camp Place.

Day 12: Jahuacocha – Llamac – Huaraz
Go-up the easy walking route to the Pampallamac place where you will say goodbye to the Huayhuash Mountains.
A few meters down, have lunch.
After resting for a few minutes, go-down to Llamac town. Arrive at 1 or 2 pm approx.
Then, leave Llamac town driving down along the Llamac river until Timpoc, where the Llamac river and the Pacllon river join.
Start going-up to Chiquian along the Ainin river, arriving at Chiquian.
Walk around the village, and continue to Huaraz on a 3-hour drive.
