Itinerary

1. Day 1 - Arequipa : City tour

   • Reception, assistance, and transfer to hotel.

   • In the afternoon, the city tour includes a visit to the Monastery of Santa Catalina. The Santa Catalina Convent opened in 1970 and is one of the most notable buildings in the city. Its walls preserve the 400-year history of the city.

   • Arequipa has Spanish-style constructions and ancient churches built upon ashlar volcanic white stone.

   • Visit the Plaza de Armas, one of the most spectacular attractions in all of Peru. No traveller can ignore the imposing Cathedral and the magnificent view of the Misti Volcano attractions.

   • Overnight stay at the hotel.

2. Day 2 - National Reserve of Salinas and Aguada Blanca, Pampa Cañahuas, & Chivay Highlights Tour

   • At 8:00 am, leave from Arequipa, taking the northern route to Yura.

   • The tour will include a visit to the National Reserve of Salinas and Aguada Blanca.

   • Observe vicuna, llamas, and alpacas in the wild.

   • In Pampa Cañahuas, see different types of birds like flamingos, herons, Andean geese, ducks, Andes eagles, and caracara.

   • Arrive at the viewpoint of the volcano, where you will get a privileged view of snow-covered mountains in Patapampa (m. 4800 -15 000pies).

   • Arrive at Chivay, capital of the valley.

   • Check-in and have lunch at the hotel.

   • In the afternoon, you can visit the hot springs of "La Calera" as an option. The water here is found at a temperature of 40° and is said to have medicinal properties. (Entrance to the hot springs not included; approx. $ 3 per person).

   • Overnight stay at the hotel.

3. Day 3 - Colca River, Flight of the Condor, Yanque and Maca Highlights Tour

   • After breakfast, start the tour of the left bank of the Colca River.

   • Visit traditional and beautiful villages - Yanque and Maca, and colonial churches.

   • Meet and interact with the friendly local people, who still dress in traditional costumes embroidered by themselves.

   • Observe hundreds of platforms or pre -Inca terraces that are still being used, where corn, quinoa, amaranth, and more, are grown.

   • Arrive at 'Flight of the Condor'. In the viewpoint of the "Cruz del Condor", appreciate the depth of the canyon and the flight of the majestic condor. Observe black litho models and pre - Inca tombs.

   • After lunch, return to Arequipa. (18:00 hrs. approx.)

4. Day 4 - Departure

   • After breakfast, assistance and transfer to the airport or bus terminal for onward journey.
