Itinerary

1. DAY 1: Arrival in Muscat – Transfer to Hotel

   • You will arrive at the Muscat International Airport. Upon arrival, you will be met by our friendly & efficient AFAQ Travel & Tourism chauffeur, who will assist you to the comforts of our vehicle to drive you to your hotel. 

   Overnight stay at 4*  Hotel in Muscat.

2. DAY 2: Muscat City Tour – Grand Mosque – Muttrah (Souq & Corniche) – Bait Al Zubair Museum

   • After having breakfast at the hotel, you can start the city tour. Your city tour begins with a visit to the beautiful Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the Middle East and the only mosque open to non-Muslims and expatriates in Oman.
   • Afterwards, you will visit the Muttrah Corniche and Muttrah Souq (the market), where you will have a photo stop with the big cruises by the corniche and the market where you can get to know the traditional handicrafts, Omani daggers and many antiques. 
   • Now it is time for lunch, and you can have it as per your taste and interest, as many restaurants are available in Muscat.
   • Then, you will be taken to visit the National Museum, which will teach you about Oman's Oman's traditions, culture, and heritage. You will then have a photo stop at the official residence of His Majesty the Al Alam Palace, flanked by the 16th-century Portuguese forts of Mirani and Jalali.
   • Now, you have covered almost every visitable place, so it's time to get back and have sleep to recall the day and dream for more to come. You will be dropped off at the Hotel.

3. DAY 3: Muscat - Bimmah Sink Hole - Wadi Shab (Hiking & Swimming Sight) – Ras al Hadd

   • After the pick up at 9.00 a.m., you will depart from Muscat to travel south towards the Quriyat Region. After travelling just a few kilometres, you will be absorbed in an almost lunar world where unreal mountains dominate the view. 
   • You will continue to the mountainous landscape, arriving at the dramatic Bimmah Sinkhole. Once you are refreshed, you will continue travelling and arrive at Wadi Shab (Wadi means valley between cliffs). 
   • Upon arrival at Wadi Shab, you will transfer to a small fishing boat to be taken across the Wadi to enable you to start your journey. The word breathtaking hardly does it justice. You will walk through the amazing canyon until you arrive at the Wadi, which leads to the Keyhole. Here, you can relax and take a dip in the pools. You can swim through a pool of crystal-clear water and dive through a narrow keyhole. You will find a magnificent cave, complete with an incredible waterfall.
   • Then, travel to Rass Al Jinzz for a turtle-watching activity and back to your hotel in Rass Al Hadd.

4. DAY 4: Sur – Sur Dhow factory - Wadi Bani Khalid (Swimming & walking) - Wahiba Desert – Dune Bashing – Sunset from Dunes

   • After breakfast at the hotel, you will depart on an exciting 4WD journey through the mountains. Your first stop will be Wadi Bani Khalid, one of Oman's most beautiful wadis. The wadi has clear, deep blue water and counts among the few wadis of Oman that hold water all year round. 
   • Then we will travel to the Wahiba Sands, famous for its multicoloured sand, which varies from black to honey-golden and even to white. In the heart of the golden sands of the Sharqiyah Desert, nestled amongst stunning and ever-changing patterns of dunes, is the Arabian Oryx Camp. The camp offers luxurious Bedouin-style, air-conditioned accommodation and various complimentary toiletries. The camp's location in the wilderness of the desert emphasizes the beauty of the golden sun surrounding it. You will be made to feel welcome with the warmth and kindness of the Omani Hospitality.
   • After an adrenaline-fueled 4WD safari across 150-metre dunes and with a spectacular view of the sunset, you will be ready to experience the delicious Arabic Cuisine, splendour and live entertainment the camp offers. While sitting around a campfire under the starry sky, you can look back over your day and appreciate the once-in-a-lifetime experience.

   Overnight at  Arabian Oryx Camp. 

5. DAY 5: Bedouin House Visit (As Per Availability) – Birkat al Mauz – Jebel Akhdar Mountain Tour with Wadi Bani Habib

   • After an early breakfast at the desert camp, you will depart on an exciting 4WD journey, visit the local Bedouin house and have Omani Coffee. You will enjoy their traditional ways of hospitality.
   • Next, you will also we will depart for Jebel Akhdar, also known as Green Mountain. On the way, we will stop by Birkat Al Mauz and have an opportunity to walk in the middle of a palm plantation at the foot of Green Mountain.
   • We will start ascending the journey to Jebel Akhdar Mountains. This mountain offers discovery and adventure. We will experience and witness nature’s primordial beauty seen in the soaring peaks and plunging canyon, along with the rise of terraces on extremely steep mountain slopes. The trek goes from one village to another through the terraces and along the Falaj system. There is a splendid view of the hanging terraces.
   • Post your night stay will be in the mountains.

   Overnight stay in 4* Naseem DusitD2 Jebal Akhdar. 

6. DAY 6: Historical Tour To Nizwa Fort – Nizwa Souq – Bahla Fort(photo stop only) – Visit to Jabreen Castle– Nizwa

   • After breakfast and check-out from the hotel, you can enjoy the early sunrise from the green mountains. We will start our journey to the cultural capital, Nizwa. 
   • Your first stop will be at the spectacular Nizwa Fort with its massive Circular Cannon Tower, one of the most impressive forts in Oman. You will also visit the Nizwa traditional Souq. The Souq is a lively place and an ideal location to purchase handicrafts and souvenirs. Your next stop will be Jabreen Castle. It was built in 1675 and was an important center for practising astrology, medicine and Islamic law.

   Overnight stay in 3* or 4* hotel in Nizwa. 

7. Day 7: Jebel Shams –– Misfah – Al Hamra Tour with Museum – Muscat

   • Pick up at 8.30 a.m. You will depart your hotel and proceed towards Al Hamra to see one of the oldest villages in this region. The traditional mud houses dating back 400 years are still occupied. 
   • Continue through the untamed and rugged countryside. We will visit the Al Hamra Museum, known for portraying Oman's aged history, cultivation and lifestyle. After an impressive cultural day, it will be time to travel and head towards Muscat—drop-off at the hotel.

8. DAY 8: Departure

   • After an amazing tour, it’s time for departure. Our guide will drop you at Muscat International Airport for departure.
