Shop at Muttrah Souq, a market located right on the banks of the Gulf of Oman. It is an ideal place if you want to get a glimpse of everyday life in Oman. Take a look at Muttrah Fort, which was built by the Portuguese in the 1580s. It served as a military defense against rivals in the past, but today it is open to tourists.
Enjoy sightseeing at Al Alam Palace, the residence of Sultan Qaboos. The palace is surrounded by forts on both sides, creating magnificent scenery. Located in the center of the city, it always attracts many visitors and, although people are not allowed to go inside, they can easily walk around and take great photos.
