Mal is professionally qualified IFMGA / NZMGA mountain and ski guide in the Southern Alps of New Zealand and internationally. Mal works for Alpine Guides (Mt Cook) and the NZ Mountain Safety Council and manages and organizes his own International Expeditions – primarily in the Nepalese Himalaya.Mal is an experienced Himalayain guide and mountaineer with 7 successful expeditions to Nepal since 2006 and one successful expedition to Indian Himalaya for BaseClimb3 that saw a new route established on the west face of Meru Peak and a wing suit basejump from 6,400 metres by Glenn Singleman and Heather Swann.In 2008 Mal summited Lhotse 8516m as a guide with DXCP and in 2010 Mal summited Manaslu 8,156 as part of the Speedfly8000 expedition that he led and organised.When Mal is not guiding in New Zealand or overseas you can find him paragliding or speedflying at Treble Cone.
