Nagarkot-Changu Hiking or Sankhu-Nagarkot Hiking
- You can choose either of the two following options as your tour itinerary:
- Option1:
- Nagarkot-Changu-Nagarkot is the nearest hill station (32 km/2100 m) from Kathmandu and is popular for sunrise/sunset and the Panoramic view of snow-capped mountain ranges. Changu is one of the oldest temples (22km/1450m) in a small Newar village.
- The hiking trail passes through a community-preserved forest and ethnic villages. Say hello to the sweet kids and villagers, who will welcome you in their unique way. Take this opportunity to interact with the locals and make your hike more comfortable and memorable.
You can choose a downhill or an uphill hike from/to Changu-Nagarkot.
Duration: Approximately 4-5 hours.
- Option 2:
- Sankhu-Nagarkot-Sankhu is a medieval Newar town (18 km), home to the famous temple Bajrayogini on the hilltop.
- Traditional houses with the locals' typical living style are the area's major attractions.
- Most of the hiking trail is followed by a gravelled motorable road (except for some shortcuts), which passes through a few Tamang villages and green terraces.
You can choose a downhill or an uphill hike from/to Sankhu-Nagarkot.
Duration: Approximately 4-5 hours.
