Description

Embark on one of the most popular trekking routes from Lukla and climb the Everest Base Camp. Behold the spectacular snow-clad mountain vistas of the Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam and Thamserku.   • Day 1- Arrival in Kathmandu expand_more
    • Arrive at Kathmandu international airport, where our agent will pick you up and take you to the respective hotel. 
    • We will prepare you with information and gear for your trek.
  • Day 2- Kathmandu Valley expand_more
    • After breakfast, we’ll brief you on our upcoming adventure and then take you on a sightseeing tour around Kathmandu, including several UNESCO World Heritage sites. 
    • You can spend the rest of the day preparing for your upcoming trek.
  • Day 3- Kathmandu - Lukla - Phakding expand_more
    • Early in the morning, we will catch a flight to Lukla from the Kathmandu domestic airport and enjoy the incredible mountain views during the short flight. 
    • After landing, we will begin our trek full of excitement. 
    • After passing picturesque Sherpa villages, their fields of crops, and many monuments toward Tibetan Buddhism, we will see a spectacular view of Kusum Kanguru just as we arrive in Phakding.

  • Day 4- Phakding - Namche Bazaar expand_more
    • After breakfast, we will head to Namche Bazaar. The path leads us across several suspension bridges while enjoying spectacular views of Thamserku. 
    • Following the Dudh Koshi Riverbank, we will reach Monjo and officially enter Sagarmatha National Park. 
    • We will continue along the river bank and eventually climb in altitude. 
    • Then, we will cross the highest suspension bridge of the Everest region, and again trek higher. 
    • Next, we will catch our first peek of Mt. Everest and continue to Namche Bazaar.

  • Day 5- Namche Bazaar Acclimatization Day expand_more
    • Today is our acclimatization day. We must take time to let our bodies adjust to the difference in altitude, as the air is thinner here. 
    • We will take a short day hike up to Sagarmatha National Park Museum and Khumjung Village. 
    • From the museum, we can see a perfect view of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, and many more Himalayan peaks. 
    • Afterwards, we will explore Namche Bazaar, a major trade center in the Khumbu region, densely populated by Sherpa people as well as trekkers who have finished or are preparing for the various Everest region treks. There is much to explore in the streets of Namche Bazaar.

  • Day 6- Namche Bazaar - Tengboche expand_more
    • After breakfast, we will head out on today’s journey. 
    • Soon after departing, we will pass the museum again and enjoy the views. 
    • After Phungi Thanga, we will reach a junction to hike up the steep trail (continuing the EBC path). The rhododendron and pine forests surrounding us are beautiful. 
    • After a couple more hours, we will arrive at Tengboche. The sunset behind Mt. Everest from this little village is something you will never forget.

  • Day 7- Tengboche - Dingboche expand_more
    • Today will be a memorable day. We will move above the tree line and feel like we are truly in the mountains. 
    • First, though, we will pass through diverse forests, enjoying the views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. 
    • After crossing the Imja River, we will reach Pangboche. 
    • Continuing, we will walk through the Imja Valley before finally ascending to Dingboche, a gorgeous village with potato, barley, and buckwheat fields.

  • Day 8- Dingboche - Chhukung Valley - Dingboche expand_more
    • After breakfast, we will head up to Chhukung valley. As we climb, the village in the distance looks beautiful, and we also have an awesome view of several of the world’s highest peaks. 
    • Reaching Chhukung valley, we are in awe and how beautiful it is. It is so perfectly nestled in the Himalayas, surrounded on all sides by snowy mountains. The somewhat strenuous roundtrip hike is well worth it. 
    • Afterwards, we will have lunch and have free time to wander around Dingboche.

  • Day 9- Dingboche - Lobuche expand_more
    • The distance from Dingboche to Lobuche is short, but the walk takes slightly longer at a high altitude. After walking for a couple of hours on the gentle flat trail, we will arrive at our lunch spot in Thukla, located at the bottom of the Khumbu Glacier. 
    • After lunch, the trail is steep up to the Everest Memorials, monuments of those people who have lost their lives during Everest expeditions. 
    • After the visit, we will head to Lobuche through the gentle flat trail. The sunset view of Mt. Nuptse in the evening is marvelous.

  • Day 10- Lobuche - Gorakshep - Everest Base Camp - Gorakshep expand_more
    • We are full of excitement today, ready to make our dreams come true. We will have an early breakfast because we’ve got a long day ahead of ourselves. The trail to Gorakshep is mostly uphill and rocky. 
    • After having lunch and dropping our bags off at Gorakshep, we will head to the Everest Base Camp with our day pack. The trail is a steep, rocky incline. Everest Base Camp is located on the Khumbu Glacier, where we can see the famous Khumbu Icefall, Mt. Khumbutse, and Pumori, though we are unable to see Mt. Everest. 
    • After we take some snaps and celebrate, we will walk back down to Gorakshep.

  • Day 11- Gorakshep - Kalapatthar - Pheriche expand_more
    • We will wake up early in the morning to begin our climb to Kala Patthar. This is a significant highlight of the Everest Base Camp Trek, and the breathtaking views of Mt. Everest, Ama Dablam, and many others are right in front of us. 
    • After enjoying our time and taking some photos at Kala Patthar, we will return to Gorakshep and have an excellent breakfast. 
    • Next, we will descend to Lobuche. The trail goes downhill via the Khumbu Glacier. 
    • Eventually, we will arrive at Pheriche.

  • Day 12- Pheriche - Namche Bazaar expand_more
    • In the morning, we will have breakfast and hike down to Namche Bazaar. 
    • After walking about one hour, we will be back on our previous trail that we took on the way up to Everest Base Camp. The trail is mostly downhill, except for a quick climb to Tengboche. 
    • If you want, we can revisit Tengboche monastery. 
    • After lunch, we will climb up to Kyanjuma for one and a half hours and enjoy the gentle flat trail to Namche Bazaar. 

    Tonight, we will celebrate our successful Everest Base Camp Trek.

  • Day 13- Namche Bazaar - Lukla expand_more
    • After having breakfast, we start walking down to reach Lukla. 
    • We will enjoy the last views of Mt. Everest, already looking forward to seeing it again. 
    • Then, we will cross six suspension bridges and pass several Sherpa villages before arriving in Lukla. 
    • After crossing the highest of the bridges, we will hike for another 3 hours to Phakding and stop for lunch. 
    • We will arrive in Lukla after about 2.5 hours of walking after Phakding. Time to enjoy the last night of the Himalayas in Lukla.
  • Day 14- Lukla - Kathmandu expand_more
    • After breakfast, transfer to Tenzing-Hillary airport and fly back to Kathmandu in the morning, enjoying the scenery during the flight.
    • Have a celebratory dinner in Kathmandu in the evening. Otherwise, the rest of the day is yours.

    • Transfer to Tribhuwan International Airport to board your return flight.

Know before you go
  •  AMS= Acute Mountain Sickness
  • It is a condition that affects many travellers to high altitudes, caused by a lack of oxygen, and is especially common at heights above 2500m above sea label.
  • HAPE= High Altitude Pulmonary Edema
  • Shortness of breath even at rest, Cough- sometimes oxygen phlegm. Excessive tiredness, chest tightness, and blueness or darkness of the face, lips, and tongue are the symptoms of HAPE.
  •  High Altitude Cerebral Edema
  • The symptoms of HACE are severe headaches, unsteadiness on the feet, altered behaviour, hallucinations, disorientation, drowsiness, and progressing to coma.
  • Diarrhea= Is the most common illness in the Mountain or Terai region while travelling. The causative organisms are Bacteria.
  •  Food Poisoning= Food poisoning is caused by eating food contaminated by bacterial Toxins. Abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, etc., are the main symptoms of food poisoning.
  • Cough, Cold= Runny nose, sneezing, sore throat, cough, fever, headache, aching muscles, and soreness are the main symptoms of Common cold in Mountain.
  • Frostbite = It means a part of the body is frozen, either the skin and the tissue immediately beneath or frozen right through the region. It leads to permanent damage.
  • Frostbit= It is the freezing of a patch of surface skin that recovers on re-warming. Frostbite and Frostbit usually start in the fingers, toe, face, or ears and spread. However, it can appear on any exposed surface. Frostbite and Frostbit can happen once the air temperature is freezing.
  • Wear a scarf or mask
  • Make sure footwear is not too tight. Avoid too many socks.
  • Ensure the gloves and socks
  • Use plastic bags inside leaky footwear to keep the feet dry.
  • Be careful at sub-zero temperatures.
  • Check yourself, your body, and the whole group regularly.
  • Stop and warm any part that goes numb as you notice it.

  • Apply plenty of sunscreens
  • Use lip and nose protector
  • Wear a hat with a brim and a scarf across the face
  • Extra care is needed in High, dry, cold regions
  • Wear dark sunglasses or goggles with suitable lenses at all times when at high altitudes, snow, ice field, and even cloudy day.
  • Wear wrap-around side-shielded glacier goggles with a neck cord to prevent loss.
  • Carry eye drops
  • Blisters consist of plasma oozed into a space under a thin skin covering. They should not be broken, allowing them to become infected. Prevention of blisters below here:
  • Keep feet dry, clean, and wear clean socks and fitting shoes.
  • Any part that is rubbing should be protected immediately by bandage tape.
  • Muscle cramp: Muscle cramp may be caused by a salt imbalance due to excess sweating. They may happen while resting.
  • Swollen and Knee pain- Swollen and knee pain are widespread while trekking on mountains. Here are the tips to prevent these:
  • Stop walking for around a few days.
  • Apply anti-inflammatory cream to the affected part.
  • Apply adhesive tape or use a knee cap while walking.
  • Warm up well before setting off to walk.
  • Use a walking stick and carry low weight.
