Embark on a 15-day trek through Nepal to Everest Base Camp, following classic trails from Lukla through Phakding, Namche Bazaar, Tengboche, Dingboche, Lobuche, and Gorakshep. Along the way, walk beside the Dudh Koshi, enter Sagarmatha National Park, visit Tengboche Monastery, and acclimatize in the heart of Sherpa country. The journey culminates with Everest Base Camp and an early morning climb to Kala Patthar for panoramic sunrise views of Mt. Everest and surrounding peaks. With tea house accommodation, full-board trekking days, domestic flights, and airport transfers included, this adventure combines high Himalayan scenery with local culture and careful logistical support.

The itinerary

1
Day 01

Arrival in Kathmandu and Trip Briefing

  • You will be met at Kathmandu Airport with a banner and dropped at the hotel.

  • After check-in at the hotel and refreshments, I will provide a trip briefing. Group members should submit 2 passport-size photos, a copy of their passport, and a copy of their travel insurance.

Day 02

Fly to Lukla and Trek to Phakding

  • Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla (2840 m), which takes about 40 minutes.

  • Then trek from Lukla to Phakding (2640 m), which takes approximately three hours, following a gentle climb up the mountainside on the left bank of the Dudh Koshi.

  • Full board provided.

Day 03

Phakding to Namche Bazaar via Sagarmatha National Park

  • The trail continues north from the Dudh Koshi valley to Jorsale, where the trail officially enters Sagarmatha National Park.

  • We continue along the trail, cross the Bhote Kosi River, and climb steeply to Namche Bazaar (3440 m). Remember to look out for glimpses of Mt. Everest early on the trail.

Day 04

Acclimatization Day in Namche Bazaar

  • We have a rest day in Namche Bazaar to acclimatize. This town, the hub of Sherpa society, is the administrative centre of the Khumbu region. Several shops sell items of every description, and you can see a proliferation of Sherpa inns.

Day 05

Namche Bazaar to Tengboche

  • Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3867 m), which takes about five hours. Tengboche is an important viewpoint on this route, and the sunset on Everest and Ama Dablam is especially beautiful from here.

  • We visit the monastery in Tengboche, the largest monastery in the Khumbu region.

  • Full board provided.

Day 06

Tengboche to Dingboche through the Imja Tse Valley

  • Leave Tengboche and the Khumbu mountains as a backdrop, then descend to a rhododendron-covered area and emerge in a pleasant level area. Pass a long Mani-stone wall to enter the village of Dingboche. From here, the walk is fairly moderate as you enter the Imja Tse Valley beneath the mighty peaks of Ama Dablam, Nuptse, and Lhotse, with views of the eastern snow-capped mountains including Island Peak (6,189 m).

Day 07

Acclimatization Day in Dingboche

  • This is a remarkable acclimatization day. There are some breathtaking views of the north face of Ama Dablam and the Lhotse-Nuptse ridge as you explore this beautiful valley that leads up to Island Peak. The walk is short, with a good chance to relax in the afternoon. You also have another option, as you can hike up to Chhukum. From here, you can enjoy the panoramic view of Island Peak, Ama Dablam, Makalu, Tawoche Peak, and others. On the same day, you come back to Dingboche and have a rest.

Day 08

Dingboche to Lobuche

  • The trail ascends to the broad, gently sloping valley and climbs steeply into the terminal moraine of the Khumbu glaciers. It then crosses the bridge and climbs higher on the moraine to a row of stone monuments erected in memory of many Sherpas and foreign mountaineers who have died climbing Everest before reaching Lobuche (4910 m).

Day 09

Lobuche to Everest Base Camp and Gorakshep

  • While trekking to Everest Base Camp, you will pass along a trail that weaves its way through ice pinnacles and past the crevasses of the Khumbu Glacier. During the spring season, you can meet some expedition teams at Everest Base Camp. The number of teams is less in the autumn season.

  • While returning, you can take a higher route to get a spectacular view of the Khumbu Icefall and numerous mountains.

  • You return to Gorakshep to stay overnight. Full board provided.

Day 10

Kala Patthar Sunrise and Trek to Pheriche

  • Early in the morning, climb to Kala Patthar (5545 m) and enjoy the sunrise view. From Kala Patthar, you can have a panoramic view of Mt. Everest and many other mountain peaks like Mt. Pumori, Mt. Lingtren, Mt. Khumbetse, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Thamserku, and many more.

  • Trek down to Pheriche. Pheriche is in the shadow of Everest Base Camp.

  • Full board provided.

Day 11

Pheriche to Namche Bazaar via Khumjung and Khunde

  • Trek from Pheriche to Namche Bazaar, which takes approximately four hours.

  • Enjoy a morning visit to the research centre.

  • Then you trek back to Namche on an easier descent, passing through rhododendron forest and a few steep climbs for an hour from the bridge at Phungitenga, near Shanasha. The walk to Namche is very scenic on a long winding path. En route, you will visit the traditional villages of Khumjung and Khunde. There is an opportunity to visit one of its monasteries, the only monastery that has a Yeti scalp.

Day 12

Namche Bazaar to Lukla

  • The last day of your trek leads from Namche Bazaar via Monjo to Lukla and takes about five hours. The trek is pleasant, except for a few short uphill climbs and then down to the Bhote-Koshi River, crossing it three times. The last uphill climb of 45 minutes will bring you to Lukla.

Day 13

Fly to Kathmandu and Free Time in Thamel

  • Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu. After breakfast, you take an early morning flight back to Kathmandu, which takes approximately 40 minutes.

  • Check in at a hotel. This is a free day to enjoy yourself by taking a rickshaw ride and shopping at Thamel. You can also go sightseeing on request.

Day 14

Free Day and Nepali Cultural Dinner

  • This is a free day, and you can use it for your shopping.

  • In the evening, we will have dinner in a Nepali cultural restaurant.

Day 15

Departure to the Airport

  • You will be dropped at the airport after breakfast.

  • Expenses incurred due to mishaps, landslides, strikes, political unrest, etc. In such cases, some extra money will be charged as per actual cost.

What to bring

  • Please bring 2 passport-sized photos each for the entry permit.

  • Clothing: Down or fibre-filled waterproof jacket and trousers, sweater or fleece jacket, underwear, warm and cotton trousers or jeans, shirts and T-shirts, shorts, long underwear, wool hat, sun hat, gloves, bathing suit, tracksuit.

  • Shopping: For our valued clients, we can give guidelines as well as provide trekking equipment at a very cheap price if they need it during trekking. Comparatively, those types of equipment are cheaper in Nepal than in foreign lands.

  • Footwear: Well-broken-in walking shoes - these must be suitable for snow, thick socks, light socks, camp shoes.

Know before you go

  • Mode of payment: cash, credit card, and payment through bank.

  • Booking conditions: A non-refundable deposit of 30 percent must be paid at the time of booking, and the booking form must be completed.

  • Final payment is due 45 days prior to departure.

  • Travel insurance with unlimited medical coverage is compulsory.

  • A visa for Nepal can be obtained at Kathmandu airport. Please note that your passport must be valid for at least 6 months after your return, and 2 passport-size pictures are needed.

  • Cancellation fees: If cancellation in writing is received more than 45 days prior to departure, the non-refundable deposit will be retained (maximum 10% of the total land price) plus any air cancellation fees that may apply. If cancellation is received within 45 days of departure, the following per-person cancellation fees will apply:

    • 15-45 days prior to departure: 25% of the total price.

    • 7-14 days prior to departure: 35% of the total price.

    • Less than 7 days prior to departure: 50% of the total price (except for the total cost of government fees).

    • On departure day or later: 100% of the total price.

  • Physical fitness: There are a lot of steep ascents and descents on the trek, and a good level of fitness is required, as some days you may be required to walk up to 6 hours. Please note that the estimated walking time each day will vary according to the fitness of the group and the weather conditions.

  • Down jacket, sleeping bag, and duffle bag can be provided if needed.
