Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla and embark on an adventurous trek to Khumjung Village via Monjo and Namche Bazaar. Follow the scenic Dudhkoshi River through beautiful villages and enjoy breathtaking mountain views of Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Amadablam, and other peaks from the Khumbu region. The journey also includes sightseeing in Kathmandu, with visits to Pashupatinath Temple, Swayambhunath, and the Boudhanath Stupa.

Return to Namche Bazaar via Everest View Hotel, from where you can enjoy perfect views of Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Amadablam, and many other mountains.

The itinerary

Day 01

Arrival in Kathmandu

  • You will be received at Tribhuvan International Airport and transferred to your hotel.

  • Get a short briefing about the route and tour. For the rest of the day, you can relax or explore the surrounding area.

Day 02

Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour

  • Sightseeing includes visits to Pashupatinath Temple, Swayambhunath, and the Boudhanath Stupa.

Day 03

Fly to Lukla and Trek to Monjo

  • Early in the morning, fly to Lukla and meet the porter(s) and other staff if there is a big group.

  • Start the trek to Monjo. The trail follows the Dudhkoshi River throughout the day, with many small ascents and descents. Lunch will be served on the way to Phakding.

Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Distance: 10 km, ascent: 258 m, descent: 218 m, duration: 5-6 hours.

Day 04

Trek from Monjo to Namche Bazaar

  • After breakfast, the trek begins with small ups and downs following the same river for one hour, and then continues with steep climbs up to Namche Bazaar, the next camp. Namche Bazaar is the gateway to the whole Khumbu region, where trekking shops, good lodges, internet services, laundry services, and bakeries are available.

Lunch, dinner, and overnight at the lodge in Namche Bazaar.

Distance: 4.5 km, ascent: 559 m, descent: 50 m, duration: 3-4 hours.

Day 05

Explore Namche Bazaar and Hike to Khumjung

  • Explore around Namche Bazaar.

  • In the afternoon, hike to Khumjung Village (3790 m), where one of the Hillary Schools and the ancient Khumjung Monastery are located. A visit to Khunde Hospital is also worthwhile.

  • Return to Namche Bazaar via Everest View Hotel, from where you can enjoy perfect views of Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Amadablam, and many other mountains.

Day 06

Trek from Namche Bazaar to Phakding

  • Trek back to Phakding, a Sherpa village by the Dudhkoshi River.

Day 07

Trek Back to Lukla

  • Trek back to Lukla along the same trail.

Fly Back to Kathmandu

  • Early in the morning, fly back to Kathmandu and then transfer to the hotel.
