A Boy to a zealous traveler My name is Nir Bahadur Gurung (NB Gurung), Childhood and High School Days Like every Nepalese child of the hilly village area, I grew up on the lap of mountains and within the green lush forests at the tranquil village of Dhading district of Nepal.Every day going to fields, fishing in rivers and herding cattle were my favorite pass time.Galloping through high hills and valleys I used to wander around terraced farmlands, juniper trees forests and I used to dance on the village folk songs.Every Gurung boy in Nepal dreams of being a Gurkha Army.My family and I also dreamt of being an Army man.After finishing High School I came to Kathmandu.Awaiting the result of my final High School Examination I had so much leisure time.One of my relatives asked me to help him in his trekking trip as a helper.I quickly told him, yes and I readily went on that trip.The trip completely changed my course of action.My aim changed since then.My Trekking Profession and Traveling PassionOnce a hobby became my profession; I love my life as a Trekking guide.I can meet different types of people from across the globe.I get to know different cultures and traditions of people.The profession not only earned me the standard living but also provided me a strong purpose.As I have trekked in almost every trekking trails of Nepal, I find myself so privileged to have reached far and out to various attractive places in Nepal.However, my profession took me to exotic and splendid places within Nepal.Earlier it was the matter of earning a living out of the trekking profession.Now it is my passion.During offseason also I love to travel around Nepal.I always find solace in the lap of Mother Nature.The cool breeze of air coming out of the mountains and gazing at the astounding sunrise sunset while resting on the green grassy meadows always fascinates me.With a group or alone; I enjoy traveling in any circumstances.I feel so blessed that I chose Trekking as my profession because it is rewarding me to fulfill the traveling dream of mine.Photos; Videos are my New Found HobbyThese days I am so much into film making and taking still photos.This new-found hobby of mine has prompted me to understand the Nepalese society, people and nature far better than before.I get to know various stories from across Nepal.From the rural environment to the clamor of the city and from divine temples to serenity of Mother Nature, I have been capturing the spectacular glimpses of Nepal. I believe that film making and photography have helped me to improve the trekking experience of my guests as well.It is believed that the photographer’s perspective of seeing things is so different than others.It is truly being applied in my [sensitive content]w I can show more splendors to my trekkers.It has been a decade long journey in the field of Tourism in Nepal.I am confident that all my actions will definitely help to preserve sustainable tourism in Nepal.The stories I try to relay to my audience and fellow trekkers will undoubtedly help Nepal and its tourism industry.While thinking back about the journey that I took since my childhood, I feel so satisfying.I loved traveling back then [sensitive content]w I travel with purpose, zeal, and passion.There are a plethora of things that I still crave to do.I will continue doing it.My journey from being an ordinary boy to a zealous traveler has been joyous and adventurous with full of personal tales.I would like to request all to come and visit Nepal.Explore this magnificent country and relish the grandeur of Culture and splendors of nature.Namaste
