Embark on a 5-day adventure across Namibia's diverse landscapes, starting in Windhoek, traverse the desert to Sossusvlei’s stunning dunes, and experience the luxury of Namib Dune Star Camp. Journey from the desert to the coast, explore Swakopmund's vibrant attractions, enjoy a dolphin cruise, and visit Cape Cross's massive seal colony before returning to Windhoek.

Itinerary

Day 1: Windhoek to Namib Desert Lodge
- 10:00 AM: Collection from Windhoek.
- Pass through the Eros Mountains and Khomas Hochland Range, descending from the central plateau to the desert savannah.
- Check-in at Namib Desert Lodge in Solitaire.
Day 2: Namib Desert Lodge to Namib Dune Star Camp
- Depart for a Sossusvlei-guided excursion.
- Explore Sesriem, Dead Vlei, and Sossusvlei.
- Return to the lodge and transfer to Namib Dune Star Camp by open jeep.
- Stay in luxurious cabins in the Namib Desert with optional stargazing.
Day 3: Namib Dune Star Camp to Swakopmund
- Embark on a journey from desert to coast, crossing the Tropic of Capricorn and traversing Gaub and Kuiseb passes.
- Stop by Walvis Bay for bird viewing in lagoons.
- Explore local shops, beaches, museums, and aquariums.
- Overnight in Swakopmund.
Day 4: Swakopmund
- Early start with the Dolphin boat cruise. This cruise starts from the Waterfront in Walvis Bay.
- Experience the cruise in luxury, style and comfort, continuing into the beautiful bay area, which holds more beauty than the eye can see – a shipwreck, lighthouse and oyster farms.
- Proceed to the ever-growing Pelican Point to look at the lighthouse where a large seal colony of Cape Fur Seals has established themselves. Whales can be seen if we are lucky. This offers you the advantage of viewing the seals while you are the centre of attraction for them, as well as experiencing the thrill of seals who will join you on the boat.
- Moving around Pelican Point, you will be highly exhilarated to see dolphins riding the bow of your boat.
- The afternoon awaits with yet another adventure to the Sandwich Harbour tour. Sandwich Harbour Lagoon along the beach is one of Southern Africa’s richest and most unique wetlands and one of five RAMSAR sites in Namibia.
Day 5: Swakopmund to Windhoek
- Visit Cape Cross Nature Reserve. The Cape Cross Nature Reserve is the world's largest Cape fur seal colony. During the breeding season in November and December, Cape Cross may have up to 210,000 seals. The females of the brown fur seal, breeding in synchrony once a year, fishing in the nutrient-rich waters of the Benguela Current.
- We proceed on our journey to Windhoek.
- End of Tour.

Know Before You Go

Namibia is a safe and stable country boasting modern infrastructure and facilities and one of the cleanest and neatest African capitals. Still, be careful, remain alert and closely watch your belongings.

Namibia is an excellent holiday destination due to the favourable currency, which means that most international travellers can get luxury accommodation and transportation at a fraction of the price in their own country.

Although most parts of Namibia are malaria-free, travellers heading north of Windhoek (and towards the Caprivi) must consult their doctors about anti-malaria medication.

Banking hours at most commercial banks are Monday to Friday from 09h00 to 15h30 and on Saturday from 08h00 to 11h00

ATMs are found throughout Namibia’s major city centres and shopping complexes.

The currency is the Namibian Dollar, where NAD1 comprises 100 cents. Please check with your hotel for daily exchange rates. Foreign currencies such as the USD are widely accepted.

Most restaurants, shops and hotels accept Visa, MasterCard, Diners Club and American Express. Proof of identity may be requested, so always carry a passport or some form of photo identification. Credit cards are not accepted at petrol stations.

You should check with your tour operator or hotel concierge – they will know if there are any potentially unsafe areas along your travel route.

For self-drive guests in Namibia, all vehicles on the road have to drive with their headlights on at all times of the day.

It is wise to avoid deserted areas, particularly at night, and if you are on a self-drive adventure, please ensure your car is locked at all times – park in well-lit, busy areas.

Dress down (i.e. don’t wear excessive jewellery) when exploring Africa’s diverse cities. Concealed travel wallets are recommended.

Stopping for hitchhikers is not recommended.

Please be sensitive when photographing people. Namibians are renowned for being friendly; however, it is courteous to ask permission before snapping away.

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (Drones) are not allowed in any of the conservation areas we manage until their impact on wildlife and anti-poaching initiatives can be assessed. This rule will apply throughout Africa, as our partners in various countries and regions have adopted a similar stance.

Guests visiting Namibia must have a passport valid for at least six months from the date of travel and should have two blank pages available in their passport. Visitors who intend to travel to Namibia’s neighbouring countries and back are advised to apply for multiple entry visas.

Bear in mind that Namibia is a country of high temperatures. In summer, the mercury may reach 40°C/104°F, and even winter temperatures are as high as 25°C/77°F.

It is always a good idea to have a record of your passport number, airline tickets and traveller's cheques.

Do not leave your baggage or luggage unattended.
