Day 1: Mandalay - Myitkyina expand_more
Transfer to Jetty (the busiest trading port) at about 8:00 a.m; see loading, unloading, and settlers’ lives.
Depart from the Jetty with a chartered boat to Myitkyina (charming village; community-based tourism site).
While boarding, see bamboo rafting, fishing, local pilgrims’ boats, and green cultivated farms on the alluvial lands.
Explore the village and observe the life of locals, especially to observe local businesses like obtaining oil with oil-press, carving of dolphin idols, products and rural surroundings.
Lunch will be served at a local house with traditional food.
Then, take a small local boat to watch the cooperative fishing between fisherman and dolphins. Observe the ways of approaching the dolphins, throwing fish-net, sharing fish and practices of befriending them. (approx.1 hour).
The boat will anchor off the village jetty to take a night rest.

Day 2: Myitkyina - Shainmakar - Mingun - Mandalay expand_more
At 7:00 a.m., take a small local boat to watch the cooperative fishing between fisherman and dolphins.
Observe the ways of approaching dolphins, throwing fish-net and sharing fish.
Sail down for a short distance to Shainmakar Ywarthit (a beautiful riverside village).
Explore the village and interact with locals. In this simple village, see drinking water pots, various pot-toy making processes, weaving, cows houses and rural atmosphere.
While sailing down to Mingun on the boat, see different loaded boats going downstream -upstream, the beauty of the mighty Ayeyarwaddy, water-birds, cultivated farms, and small houses on the island.
After 3 hours long sailing, arrive at Mingun.
Visit Settawyar Pagoda (replica of Buddha’s footprint), the massive unfinished Pathtotawgyi Pagoda, the world’s largest functioning bronze-made Mingun Bell, Memorial Hall of Mingun Sayadaw and unique styled Myatheindan white-washed pagoda.
Set sail back to Mayanjan Jetty.
Arrive at Mandalay at sunset-time.

Dolphin watching is the best time from November to March. In the other season, it can get challenging to find and fish with dolphins.
