Itinerary

1. ARRIVAL IN Antananarivo – Andasibe

   • Arrive at the Antananarivo International Airport and do meet and greet.

   • Go straight to Andasibe National Park along the RN2 which takes about 4 hours. 

   • Stop at Madagascar Exotic Reserve to see butterflies, reptiles, chameleons.

   • Continue until the Kingdom of lemurs with your Madagascar tour guide. 

   • Upon arrival, check into the hotel and have lunch. 

   • Spend a free afternoon.

   • Go for an evening walk with a local guide to spot the nocturnal lemurs known as the smallest lemurs, reptiles, frogs, etc.

   Dinner and overnight at Hotel Feon'ny Ala or similar.

2. Andasibe

   • Go for a morning walk in Analamazaotra National Park with a local guide to see the largest living species of lemur (Indri Indri) as well as other species, reptiles and birds. 

   • Head back to the hotel for lunch.

   • Visit the Vakona Private Reserve, the lemur’s Island and a crocodile reserve in the afternoon. 

   Dinner and overnight at the same hotel.

3. Andasibe - Antsirabe

   • Embark on a morning drive from Andasibe to Antsirabe via Antananarivo where you will have lunch. Antsirabe is famous for its thermal pools which are rich in healing properties. The town attracts also tourists and locals due to its cool climate and location. This place is the capital of rickshaws and beer, THB the local beer. 

   • Continue along the RN7 in the afternoon. 

   • Stop en-route for a short visit to a workshop which works on different kitchen utensils made from aluminium at Ambatolampy. 

   • On arrival, visit the city and then check into a hotel. 

   Dinner and overnight at Hotel Le Royal Palace or similar.

4. Antsirabe - Morondava

   • Drive along the RN34 and RN35 from the centre to the west coast in Morondava. 

   • Pass through small villages of stone cutters, gold miners with some view on big rivers. You will start to see baobab trees with rice fields near Morondava town in the West. 

   • Upon arrival, check into the hotel. 

   Dinner and overnight at Hotel Trecicogne or similar.

5. Morondava - Bekopaka

   • Drive from Morondava to Bekopaka village with some stops at the Baobab Avenue and the Sacred Baobab for pictures. 

   • Cross the Tsiribihina River by ferry boat.

   • Have lunch at Belo-Sur-Tsiribihina town.

   • Continue towards the destination. 

   • Check into the hotel upon arrival. 

   Dinner and overnight at Les Orchidees Du Bemaraha or similar.

6. Tsingy of Bemaraha National Park

   • Visit the Tsingy of Bemaraha National Park with your Malagasy tour guide. 

   • Start with a morning excursion on the river with a dugout canoe in the Manambolo gorge to see caves of stalactites and old tombs of Vazimba people. It takes about 1 hour 30 mn then reach the Big Tsingy which is one hour from the village of Bekopaka. 

   • Explore the Tsingy, high between 30 and 50 m with a local guide. Walkways and wooden bridges, well integrated into the landscape, will help you to continue your visit more easily. It takes about 4 hours while walking and climbing. 

   • Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park.

   • Head back to the hotel in the middle of the afternoon.

7. Bekopaka – Morondava

   • After breakfast, drive back to reach Morondava with your Malagasy tour guide. 

   • Stop at Belo-Sur-Tsiribihina for lunch.

   • Continue to Morondava with some stops to see the Lover’s baobab.

   • Enjoy sunset at Baobab Avenue. 

   • Check into the hotel upon arrival. 

   Dinner and overnight at Hotel Trecicogne or similar.

8. Morondava – Antsirabe

   • After breakfast, depart from Morondava to reach Antsirabe through a 9 hour drive. 

   • Stop at Miandrivazo for lunch.

   • Continue towards the destination. 

   • Check into the hotel upon arrival. 

   Dinner and overnight at Hotel Le Royal Palace or similar.

9. Antsirabe – Ranomafana National Park

   • Leave Antsirabe in the morning after breakfast to reach the Ranomafana National Park. Spectacular scenery awaits you throughout the road. See the rice fields in the terrace along the hills and the traditional houses of the Betsileo tribe. 

   • Stop at Ambositra, the centre of Malagasy craft and see the woodcarvings of the Zafimaniry tribe.  

   • After lunch, continue towards the destination. 

   • Check into the hotel upon arrival. 

   • Go for a night walk with a local guide along the road outside the park to spot some nocturnal lemurs, chameleons, frogs, etc. 

   • Head back to the hotel. 

   Dinner and overnight at Hotel Manja or similar.

10. Ranomafana National Park

    • Go for a morning walk at Ranomafana National Park with a local guide to see some species of lemurs, reptiles and birds. 

    • Head back to the hotel for lunch and spend the afternoon in leisure. There is a possibility to swim at a thermal pool near the village. 

    Dinner and overnight at the same hotel.

11. Ranomafana National Park – Andringitra National Park

    • Drive from Ranomafana National Park to the Andringitra National Park.

    • Stop to visit the workshop Pierrot Men, a famous photographer of Madagascar in Fianarantsoa. This city is the capital of the Betsileo tribe well known for being invincible. 

    • Continue to Ambalavao, a beautiful town where is the largest zebu market in Madagascar. 

    • Have lunch.

    • Visit the workshops of silk weavers and the Antemoro papers. 

    • Proceed to the Andringitra National Park. 

    • Check into the hotel upon arrival.

    Dinner and overnight Tsara Camp or similar.

12. Andringitra National Park

    • Go trekking at the Andringitra National Park to conquer Cameleon.

    • Enter the corridors of Tsaranoro among the huge blocks and see varied lush green vegetation.

    • Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park.

    • Head back to the hotel. 

    Dinner and overnight at the same hotel.

13. Andringitra National Park – Isalo National Park

    • After breakfast, proceed to Isalo National Park via Ihosy, the capital of the Bara tribe. 

    • Stop for lunch.

    • Continue towards the destination passing through the Ihorombe plateau where a landscape of grassy plains will amaze you. 

    • Check into the hotel upon arrival. 

    Dinner and overnight at Hotel H1 or similar.

14. Isalo National Park

    • After breakfast, visit Isalo National Park to see different landscapes of the massif.

    • Reach the canyon and forest area, enjoy at a natural swimming pool and waterfall inside the massif. Don’t forget to bring swimming clothes. There is also a possibility to find some species of lemurs here. The walk takes about 6 hours.

    • Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park. 

    • View the sunset at the window of Isalo.

15. Isalo National Park – Ifaty

    • Drive from the Isalo National Park to join Ifaty via Tulear. 

    • Stop at Ilakaka, the sapphire town, to visit the showroom of Colorline to see different types of precious stone and gems. 

    • Continue towards Ifaty through the desert landscape.

    • Stop by the Mahafaly tombs with their totems carved from Aloalo on the road. 

    • Check into the hotel upon arrival.

    Dinner and overnight at Hotel Belle Vue or similar.

16. Ifaty

    • Spend the day at leisure. Ifaty is one of the beautiful beaches in Tulear. There is a possibility to do some excursions and many sea activities. 

    • Enjoy by the beautiful lagoon area and just relax.

    • Spend the day at leisure.

18. Ifaty – Antananarivo

    • Proceed to the airport to catch a domestic flight to Antananarivo. 

    • Get picked up at the Antananarivo International Airport.

    • Visit of the Queen's Palace or the Souvenir Market (according to the flight schedule).

    • Head to the hotel. 

    Dinner and overnight at Hotel Les 3 Metis or similar.

19. Antananarivo DEPARTURE

    • Get picked up at the hotel and go to the airport to catch your international flight.
