Embark on a 6-day journey through western Madagascar, exploring some of the island’s most iconic natural and cultural wonders. Begin in Morondava and witness the legendary Baobab Avenue at sunset, then trek through Kirindy Forest to spot lemurs, chameleons, and the elusive fosa. Discover the dramatic limestone formations of Small and Big Tsingy in the UNESCO-listed Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park. Enjoy a peaceful canoe ride along the Manambolo River, visit ancient caves and sacred Vazimba tombs, and immerse yourself in local life at the Betania fishing village.
Itinerary

Day 1: Antananarivo – Morondava – Kirindy (Flight + Drive)
- Transfer to Antananarivo Airport for a scheduled flight to Morondava (approx. 1h15min).
Upon arrival in Morondava, meet your guide at the airport holding a sign with your name.
Begin a 2h30min drive to Kirindy Forest, passing by the famous Baobab Avenue for photo stops and a short break.
Check in at Relais du Kirindy and rest.
At 04:00 PM, drive 10 minutes to visit majestic Baobab trees during sunset, served with cold drinks.
Before 06:00 PM, start a night walk in Kirindy Forest, a two-hour exploration of nocturnal wildlife including lemurs (sportive, fork-marked, grey and pygmy mouse lemurs), chameleons, geckos, snakes, and possibly the elusive fosa.
Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Kirindy – Bekopaka (150 km – approx. 6 hours)
- After breakfast, return to Kirindy Forest for a morning walk. Spot day-active species such as white sifakas, red-fronted brown lemurs, and several species of birds and reptiles.
Learn about medicinal plants and the ecological role of baobabs.
Begin the overland journey to Bekopaka, crossing two rivers by ferry and passing through small villages.
Stop for lunch at Mad’Zebu Restaurant in Belo-sur-Tsiribihina, one of the best dining spots in the region.
Continue to Bekopaka, arrive in the evening, check in, and have dinner.
Overnight at Olympe de Bemaraha (B&B).

Day 3: Manambolo River Canoe Ride and Small Tsingy
- After breakfast, drive to Manambolo River and enjoy a canoe ride through caves featuring stalactites, stalagmites, and nesting bats and birds.
View the Vazimba tombs, sacred to the Malagasy people.
Return to the hotel for lunch and relaxation.
In the afternoon, visit the Small Tsingy, home to over 100 species of birds, 11 species of lemurs, and rich biodiversity including reptiles and bats.
Climb to panoramic viewpoints for breathtaking views and await sunset over the Tsingy with cold drinks.

Day 4: Full-Day Exploration of Big Tsingy (17 km – 1h30min drive)
- Early morning departure for a full-day excursion to the Big Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Hike through limestone forests, caves, and across the famous suspension bridge.
Observe unique wildlife including lemurs (bamboo, sifaka, sportive), birds, reptiles, and endemic plants.
Walk through limestone canyons and caves filled with glittering calcite formations.
Pause at two main viewpoints to take in sweeping vistas and dramatic landscapes.
- Have lunch in the park, then return to the hotel in the afternoon.

Day 5: Bekopaka – Baobab Avenue – Morondava (214 km – approx. 8 hours)
- Depart early after breakfast for the return drive to Morondava, crossing the two rivers by ferry again.
Enjoy lunch at Mad’Zebu Restaurant en route.
Visit the culturally significant Sacred Baobab and Baobab Lovers, learning their legends and importance to the Sakalava people.
Arrive at the Baobab Avenue for sunset, one of Madagascar's most iconic photographic scenes.
Enjoy baobab juice or ice cream, and take time for photography during golden hour.

Day 6: Morondava – Betania Fishing Village – Departure
- Meet your guide at 08:00 AM and set out for a visit to Betania Fishing Village, home to the Vezo tribe.
Walk through the village and mangrove area, learning about the ecological and economic value of the ecosystem.
Interact with local fishermen and witness their way of life.
Enjoy traditional dance and music performed by villagers.
Return to the hotel.
Transfer to Morondava Airport for your flight back or extend your stay as desired.
