Proceed to see the Sigiriya lion rock or Pidurangala rock temple, which is an ancient rock fortress located in the northern Matale District.
Visit Dambulla cave temple and have lunch there.
Go to see the Nalanda Gedige temple which is an ancient complete stone temple near Matale (free entrance )
Exxplore the Matale Muththumariamman Hindu temple, dedicated to Mariamman, the goddess of rain and fertility.
Return to Kandy.
