Itinerary

1. Day 1 – Arrival in Vientiane

   • Morning / Afternoon
     • Arrive at Wattay International Airport, Vientiane.
     • Meet your guide/driver.
     • Transfer to hotel and check in.
   • Afternoon Sightseeing (Approx. 2:00–5:30 PM)
     • Wat Sisaket: the oldest temple with thousands of Buddha statues.
     • Wat Phra Keo: once home to the Emerald Buddha.
     • Patuxai Monument: Laos’ Arc de Triomphe; climb to the top for city views. 
     • That Luang Stupa: Laos’ most sacred monument.
   • Evening
     • Walk along the Mekong River promenade.
     • Browse the Night Market.

   Overnight: Vientiane.

2. Day 2 – Vientiane → Vang Vieng by Train

   • Morning
     • Breakfast at hotel.
     • Transfer to Vientiane Railway Station (~20–30 min from city).
     • High-speed train Vientiane → Vang Vieng (approx. 1 hour).

   Example: Depart ~9:00 AM, arrive ~10:00 AM.

   • Late Morning – Arrival in Vang Vieng
     • Transfer to your hotel.
     • Check in and refresh.
   • Afternoon (Approx. 1:00–5:30 PM)
     • Visit Tham Chang Cave: panoramic views of the valley.
     • Walk across the Nam Song Bridge.
     • Relax by the river or explore the village.
   • Optional Activity:
     • Kayaking on Nam Song River (1–2 hours).
     • Cycling tour to rice paddies.
   • Evening
     • Free time or drinks at a riverside bar with sunset views.
     • Overnight: Vang Vieng.

3. Day 3 – Vang Vieng Exploration & Train to Luang Prabang

   • Morning Adventure
     • Breakfast.
     • Choice of activity (approx. 8:30–11:30 AM):
     • Blue Lagoon & Phu Kham Cave: swim and explore.
     • Hot Air Balloon (early morning if weather permits).
     • Zipline & Caving Combo.
   • Lunch
     • Return to town and enjoy lunch by the river.
   • Afternoon Departure
     • Transfer to Vang Vieng train station (~3:30 PM).
     • High-speed train to Luang Prabang (approx. 1 hour).

   Example: Depart ~4:30 PM, arrive ~5:30 PM.

   • Evening in Luang Prabang
     • Transfer to hotel and check in.
     • Visit the Night Market or relax.
     • Overnight: Luang Prabang.

4. Day 4 – Luang Prabang Heritage & Kuang Si Falls

   •  Morning (Approx. 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM)
     • Breakfast.
     • City highlights tour:
     • Royal Palace Museum.
     • Wat Xieng Thong: the “Golden City Monastery”
     • Wat Mai.
     • Wat Visoun.
   • Lunch
     • At a local restaurant or café.
   • Afternoon (Approx. 1:30–5:30 PM)
     • Drive to Kuang Si Waterfalls (30 km, ~45 min).
     • Explore waterfalls, swim in turquoise pools.
     • Visit Bear Rescue Center.
   • Return
     • Back to Luang Prabang in late afternoon.
   • Evening
     • Optional climb to Mount Phousi for sunset.
     • Night Market shopping.
     • Overnight: Luang Prabang.

5. Day 5 – Departure from Luang Prabang

   • Morning
     • Breakfast.
     • Free time for last-minute exploring:
     • Traditional textiles shops.
     • Morning Alms Giving Ceremony (early, ~5:30 AM).
     • Coffee at riverside cafés.
   • Check-out
     • Transfer to Luang Prabang Airport for departure.
